Got the bike back from the shop with new forks, wheelset and handlebars.

Really testing that tyre clearance at the rear! That new frameset might have to be moved forward

those pedals make me sad!

Meh, i'm a huge flat pedal convert. Especially for rocky stuff. I'll keep my SPD's for road use, but considering how much i need to hike a bike around here, having freedom of trainers is awesome. Especially with wide feet from generally using barefoot style shoes

Should get some nice mtb shoes and the dual sided pedals to give you best of both worlds!

Bike looks good, what's the fork?

I considered it but honestly I don’t mine being unclipped. I do have some dual sided pedals in a box so maybe if I could find some decent value shoes. For road shoes the only ones were the knitted Lake CX201. Even the MX238 felt too narrow.

Fork is a Rock Shox Rudy RD2

After a few months of waiting for reductions the Giant Revolt X finally came down into the bracket of my c2w voucher and turned up yesterday. Not ridden it yet as waiting on new Cranks, but lots and lots of clearance ready for the winter of mud! I would have preferred the lower models colours, but now this has turned up it's a lot nicer in the flesh.

Last ride on the bike in its current guise.

One hell of a route Strava did me a solid. Great mix of twisty single track, flat hard packed dirt and a smattering of steep rocky sections.

Amusingly I did finish the ride wondering if I’d have been better to keep this as my gravel bike and just add better gearing and have bought a road focused frame instead of turning this back into a road bike. However I suspect there’s not much in it.

Nice bike and picture, is that the moda gravel bike?

I chose the electric one, less sweaty riding to work!
Ah nice! Was thinking of getting one before but decided to get a full size bike instead

How are they for commuting? Do you do a long commute and how are they up steep hills.

Far more comfortable than my my previous Brompton. It’s great for hills but you need to put in some effort for the steeper ones. I cycle around thirty minutes each way.

Nice, Yeah I have to put effort into steeper ones even on my full size e bike, i bet its nice to be able to fold it, get on a train and then take it around and cycle somewhere though

FAT tyres count? This thing is a hoot, a comfortable hoot with masses of power (1300W
depending on settings ).

It is 38KG though but in motion doesn't feel that heavy thanks to the geometry and grip.

Went to the bumpy trails in the valley and on one speedy run a kid on an eScooter beeped at me and wanted to race :p
