Get Ready for Battlefield 6 - Launch Times, Secure Boot and PC Specs

Sweet! I haven't yet ordered it but I likely will. I really enjoyed the beta and it ran well enough on my laptop I'm willing to jump back in. Took a few hours for it to click but once I started levelling up the guns and getting attachments it got a whole lot eaiser

Me and a few mates played the Beta quite a lot. I've not played Battlefield since 4, used to be a big 1942, 2 & 2142 player. It sparked a good few laughs and since bought 2142 for £2.49 on Steam. We've all completed the Pass for BF6 rewards so all hyped for BF6!

Pre-ordered it last week. Can't wait!

I'm guessing that you will still be eligible for the pre order tombstone pack right up to actual unlock time Friday? I'm holding out to see if CD Keys goes in stock before then. :D
I'm holding out too..the website says coming soon so hopefully they will get some keys in stock for launch

It's been years/decades since I've played a decent FPS game. [Excluding cross platform Fortnight battles with my son :p ]
I've just upgraded my PC to a high spec and saw this was being released this week.

Will defo be checking it out

I enjoyed this in the open beta, but it highlighted how old and slow I am. Great looking game, but I genuinely worry that I'll end up getting frustrated by the fact I can't shoot as straight as I used to - no smutty comments please :D
Party up with me mate you will suddenly feel better about your abilities :D

Decided to test out the COD beta, and this came up. Now I had no issues turning on Secure Boot for Battlefield 6 open beta. But I've heard TPM 2.0 requirements are coming to BF6 this Friday as well. Turning on TPM looks a lot more involved this time!

Sigh

I turned it off ages ago for the 7800X3D cpu I had prior to an upgrade as it used to cause stuttering.

Yeah that was probably me...
At our age you forget what you used to play!
Yeah, we used to 2v2 back when I was PB or Guardian. It's a little blurry, but I remember it being good times!
Party up with me mate you will suddenly feel better about your abilities :D
Sharpy, you always knew how to make me feel better! :D
No smut intended!

Well that was nerve wracking!

Enabled TPM in BIOS - Windows still says TPM DISABLED
Back into BIOS, NV reset required from disabled to enabled for a new TPM key. It then warns you it may brick your system if you have encryption or bitlocker installed

This is way worse than Secure boot, I can see some systems being screwed

All this for cheaters who still cheat!

Are you on the latest BIOS? Some motherboard manufacturers only just released a new TPM update which will match the one COD is using. Battlefield is using an older one. 3.x.2.x
2 or higher for COD (bold number)

Run tpm.msc and check what version you have.

Not sure! It's not the most recent BIOS but it was updated this year.

Didn't work until I did a reset of the TPM ( Enabled ).

Although encryption and bitlocker had to be disabled ( it was )

Well obviously it's not like current COD which seems more like Titanfall or Mirrors Edge. But definitely more like COD than BF2, 3 and 4. Take the auto healing as one example, 5 seconds for auto feeling to kick in and then I think it's 20hp a second until full. You go from nearly dead to full health in about 10 seconds. BF4 was something like 16 seconds and then 5hp/s. Why even have medkits at this point?

Halo was the game that introduced regenerating health and for some reason just about every other shooter followed. It makes sense in certain games like halo where you have a suit with shields etc. But a regular military shooter to me its never made any sense and just detracts from what a medic is supposed to do.

I honestly don't think devs even give it a second thought now, they just give every shooter regenerating health as standard instead of thinking about if it makes sense for the game.
