Mirror extenders arrived, can't get them to fit- incorrect thread on the bolt from part to handlebar fitting (thats correctable with replacement bolts) however mirror to part is also regular thread direction so it wont thread. If I remove the thread on the part for that hole then a reverse threadnut wouldn't fit on the on the other side either, as the underside is angled.
So basically need four items, two thread adapters and two reverse thread bolts

Just leave the mirrors off - less drag, can get up to some proper speeds then

It's back!!!
So far, so good, just need to give it a proper ride to check all is well.
Nearly got flattened by some daft bint who didn't see me, and that was before I even got off the dealers premises (I'll post a vid later).
I immediately took off the standard can and put the asbo one back on :D

Unfortunately it'll now get laid up for winter.

So, is learning to ride in winter a bit of a mad idea??

I wouldn't like to fall off on a motorbike/twist and go scooter. Even if you don't injure yourself the cost of repairs..

Bad enough on a pushbike that's happened to me several times. Cost of repairs is virtually nil on a pushbike. generally only scratch damage.

I'd stop riding once it snows/black ice..not worth it.

I learned to ride on 50cc scooters in Holland, all through winter, delivering pizzas. Temps as low as -14, and because I lived in quite a rural part of our town, none of the side roads were salted, so it got rather exciting. Faceplants a plenty, make no mistake.

I've ridden through winter here too and I struggle a lot more with the cold now that I'm older.

So what was the problem ?

Not at all. The best time to learn is now as a lot of people learning to ride will now put it off until spring. This time of year is your best opportunity.

Obviously, don't try to ride in snow and ice (no instructor would do this anyway), but if you can hack the cold and rain, you'll be a licence holder before you know it.
