——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

The bizarre thing is, progression in the beta seemed pretty spot on. So this is a conscious change they made prior to full release.
Yep, definitely seemed like they thought they could really stretch out the unlock experience.

Having said that, the Beta may have intentionally had a shorter unlock time to test it worked and to gauge how players felt about it, but probably with the intention to revert to the longer time we have currently.

The beta was definitelty shortended and at the time I liked it, becasue it wasn't on long, but I wouldn't want that short for the main game. I also don't like how long it is now. Somewhere inbetween would be good.

i think my favourite sessions are when you get that random group who get into that flow state of capping a point then onto the next and stick together. Maps like Empire State you can tell right one team is going to rush D then onto E and the other will go B then to A. A few will fight over the centre C point and the other groups sorta have a back and forth on the outer points.

I tend to just play how the squad do, if i see lots of them just going off lone wolf then ill maybe go recon for that map. If they are playing objectives ill go support.

A week in ive obviously more feedback than i did on the first weekend. Still enjoying the game, id say 90% of my time has been spent in Conquest either open or closed weapon servers. Tried one of the manhattan bridge bot servers to see how it went and yes while it would be super fast for unlocks it got boring real quick.

I find i actually prefer the beta maps to the likes of Mirak or Sobek, they are much harder to get into a flow and usually degrade into just holding one point and a snipe fest.

Likewise with firestorm its just a stalemate most of the time, granted im only playing conquest so might need to see the maps on different modes.

Anyone else suffering crashes? 2 friends I play with keep getting a random black screen after an hour or so of playing, complete video output loss. Lots online about it but none of the fixes seem to work.

Both running pretty new systems with recent installs of Windows 11, both using RTX 30XX cards.

I'm about 20 hours in now on my RX 9070 XT with no issues, it's been faultless. As a previous long term Nvidia user I never thought I'd see the day when an AMD card just works (past experiences have been terrible!) :D
No its been solid on my 9950x3d / 4090 system. The only crash to desktop I had was the known bug doing keybinds or in certain menus.

Maps are too small for Battlefield and cluttered, but as I've said before it'll be down to lack of server resources due to all calculations needed for destruction and hit reg etc so they had to shrink.
I doubt it's that tbh and more the fact that DICE took the maps too big in 2042 to the extreme. The destruction is pretty basic and feel scripted. I watch a YouTube video comparing Firestorm destruction BF3 and BF6. Main difference was in BF6 you get a bigger and more unrealisticly large explosion from the RPG etc to hide the wall disappearing. Oh you get rubble growing out of the ground which looks awful and cant be unseen once seen.
Thoughts after a bit of play? Tempted to pick this up tonight.
Don't bother, play Arc Raiders for free this weekend instead :)

I forced rebar on with nv profile inspector for bf6 and netted another 18fps. I can't see any down sides currently.

Seen my first couple of lvl 100 players tonight, sittin on lvl 29 myself :D

They must have been farming those XP bot Portal servers
I'm lvl 32 with about 38 hours of game time

The one thing i'm trying to understand - when someone sights you, you have probably less than 1 second to either win the kill, get away (unlikely), or die. Why bother with all of these guns when lasers would do the job ?
There really should be more time before you die. It basically comes down to who started shooting first - and we are talking nano seconds time difference.

i set prone to one of my mouse buttons saved my ass in the old battlefield's and as soon as im getting hit and not sure where, im proning all the time, a lot of the cod players dont seem to realise the importance of prone, no joke wiped out about 6 guys in a row just by proning and changing posistion then proning in a room, its like if they dont see a guy thats crouching or standing your invisible lol

yeh the guys with 100 are deffo bot farmers im only 30 odd hours and rank 31 :)

as soon as im getting hit i prone it works gives me a few seconds to zero in on where the fire is coming from and half the time im already behind cover just by proning :P
