BMW R18! I must have deleted the model name in my original post by accident

It's either that, or go back to a Bonnie on a T100/T120. If I did, I'd definitely get the tank with the hand painted gold pinstripe to match my original T100 Mecatwin Special

Things move slower in winter at the dealers I frequent, at least. With my second K1300S they actually rang me to say they were getting it in, and did I want it - for a bargain price.

But as ever, sales people are tinkers, and so will try and get what they can get. Go in desperate for 'that bike' and you'll be hearing how busy they are :D.

I'm just hoping KTM decide they're so not busy in December my 36k valve clearance check will be a bit cheaper .

@dangermouse425 did you come on an OC UK rideout about... 12 years ago on that bike in your sig? I think a few of us met in some carpark on the Reading side of the A33. I recall a similar bike, plus that @agnes fella with a Ducati and a lady friend that he forgot to put back on the back at one stop .

Yep, and I lead at some point and got us all on a **** road and gave up leading :D I think it was that ride. But indeed, I may have forgotten the lady friend at some point, sounds about right :D

If this doesn't make you smile for 20 minutes, then I don't know what will..

The ZXR, FZR750's & GSXR1100 are standout for me, as they were all about when I left school and went to work in a Suzuki dealer.
Love the OG Katana as well.

Must resist..

Saw that earlier. That Katana, dream bike. I remember them new in the early '80's...

I'm so invested in this catch up. Did the lady friend forgive you? Is the lady friend now the wife?

I honestly can't remember the lady friend from back then, this was years ago. Not with them now :D

And absolutely we need another catchup ride, I've still got a Ducati, as per usual but it'll be a bit trickier to pop over for a quick ride out given I live in NL now.

I've driven to Holland loads. Meet up in France and do the Alps or summat.

Potverdikkie.

Did you also go to NZ or somewhere?

NL isn't that far mind you! Found any decent roads there though, that's the question! I went down to Lux and found some half decent ones. Vosges bit better. Alps best!

Though someone said the Ardennes has good roads, but so far all the bits I've seen have too many trees for my kind of riding.

There are no decent roads in Holland. Literally not one. Fortunately it's tiny so an hour or so will have you in Germany or Belgium, which do have some decent roads. Half a day's riding will have you in some truly epic scenery.

Anyone used a fake quad lock?

For a quad lock setup with anti-vibration I'm looking at 100 notes easily. AliExpress has a fake one for less than a tenner. Thoughts?

I just found this on AliExpress: Please help me choose!
£13.00 | Motorcycle Phone Mount Bicycle Cell Phone Holder Anti-Shake Bike Cell Phone Holder with Vibration Dampener Bicycle Accessories
Bit of a late reply but I have that one you linked on my mountain bike and my phone has come off once so i definitely wouldn’t trust it on my motorbike!

talking of which I'm going on a ride tomorrow if the weather is good, need sat nav, wonder if able to put phone in this bungee area, or would it just plop out

I'm thinking a sticky back zip tie loop fixed to the case, then that zip tied to the bungees might be enough

I wouldn't put the phone in that area. You could just memorise the ride route at a high level and follow road signs. If you do get lost, just pull over at a safe place and check the maps.

Just back, I only gave it a quick glance when it was safe on straight empty road

But yeah can see why it's more risky as taking eyes off road bit longer than off the bars.
