South Park

It’s mostly a miss with a few hits for me, the show is still miles off its peak years but realistically that peak is never going to be reached again. Same goes for the Simpsons etc. Still gets the odd chuckle though.

Feel they are rolling in the shock factor and anti Trump sentiment and little else at the moment. Its one of my favourite shows of all time but the last few seasons inc the specials have been generally poor imo. We get Paramount for free because my wife works at Mars (something to do with M&Ms sponsorship in the US) but I'd not be subbing to it to watch South Park otherwise.
 
South Park has rarely been funny in recent years but it's still been fun to watch. This season though is horrendous, it's not funny and sadly it's not even fun..
 
I would say that this week’s episode was the worst episode of the season… but it’s actually, officially, the first episode of the new season….?! Weird.

Not too many laughs from me today.

They finally put Tegridy out to pasture only to replace with pseudo-Saddam Trump with a little willy.

Little JD is class though.
 
They went after the fans saying it sucks now with this weeks episode whilst still keeping the meta storyline going
 
The throwback to Saddam Hussain was well played imo, but agreed with people here that this is one of the weaker seasons. I had to read up what the 6-7 obsession is all about and I still don't get it other than it being a number on a baseball player's kit.

Best episode for me in recent years was the ChatGPT one from early 2023, followed by the Harry & Meghan "Privacy" Tour.
 
I kinda respect that they acknowledged how crap this season has been and putting it in the show. I don't mind politics in South Park but right now it's so extreme it basically feels like propaganda. The Mr. Garrison Trump arc years ago was fine.
 
Hard to be funny when reality is so utterly ****** in the first place.
Gets very repetitive very swiftly.
Until the background changes there isn't much they can do about it, and virtually every US based story is all trump.
