Spec me a dehumidifier please?

Seems quieter than my dessicant meaco...also uses 135W instead of the 300-600W.

although the air from the dessicant was warmer, so heated the room up (did notice it after an hour or so even in 75m3 room) and in a bathroom closet the door with laundry warmed room up fair amount..but the air from this compressor feels cool to the touch, so will need rads to be on as well ideally

Still not put ours on yet, still warm enough outside to have all the windows open a little and the heating is not on all day yet.
Soon as that changes the windows get closed and the dehumidifier stays on until the weather warms up again.

Yep, from what I understood the general rule is compressor versions are good in warmer areas and use less energy but can't dry as well in colder rooms, whereas the dessicant versions can work well in colder areas but use more energy and aren't great in the summer due to the heat output.

Unless you need a damp cold cellar dehumidified, I'd opt for a compressor version. One regret I have with the version I bought (a £100 one off Amazon, which has been running for a few years now almost non-stop), is that I should have got one with a container that has a cover/lid. That way when you take out the water you can't drop the whole thing over the floor potentially.

Another thing to consider is how it blows the air. The one I got blows forwards from the front whereas some have a blower out the top so you can't have it blow through what you want to dry unless it's under it. Not a big deal if you put it in a small utility room since the whole room will dry but something to think of.

Also, I got one with a led number indicator for the humidity which is nice. Much better than 3-4 led lights indicating which range of humidity the air is in (20-40, 40-60, 60-80 etc.).

Ours went on a few days ago. Shocking how much water it sucks up overnight.
 
I've still got the one mine came with years ago sealed, didn't feel the need for HEPA. Also as it reduces the amount of water it can extract I just leave the plastic mesh one on to catch general dust.
