The Outer Worlds 2

Does it feel more alive in the open world and environments? I found the first just felt a little sparse when wandering round the open world. Am keen to have a go at this after I've finished what I'm currently playing. Probably sub to gamepass for a bit.
I'd say it's about the same in the open world. Lots of quiet empty stretches with same-y looking enemies littered about. I am enjoying it overall though. The flaw system is interesting with some inventive buff/debuffs. I got the flawed one so they just stack all of them on me.

One of the biggest problems I have with these games is lazy quests that would only ever happen in a game.

There's a guard at the entrance to the first settlement you come across who asks you to retrieve a baseball from a fallen soldiers body.

The soldier is about 50 metres away. In what scenario would that body ever be left there to rot in real life?

Ha, sounds like they have been reading the "MMORPG's guide to creating quests" and are following it step by step.

"I need 50 bear pelts from over there" - sure, here ya go.
"Thanks, now I need 50 berries from those bushes over there" - wait a minute, that's just where I was.
"Yes ..."

That was the only thing that got a bit samey about the first game. Do think I'm going to give it ago once I've cleared Thaumaturge. Glad you're enjoying it.

To be honest I get this style is boring and out done, but it's a simple easy way to introduce to a new player what you can do in the game.

It teaches you if you hunt a bear, you get bear pelts. With this you can make armour etc.

Berries you can pick, and use to make food for boosted effects.

Perhaps they need to find better ways to introduce mechanics to the player but I get why they do it.
