The Outer Worlds 2

I just started and I couldn't figure out why the game felt absolutely terrible and then I looked into settings and realised frame gen turned itself on, how anyone plays with that on I have no idea
Why what does it do that looks bad ?

The rocks looks really fuzzy/noisy and so does the ground, but there are multiple reasons why it may look like that to me but not Kelt (specsavers aside :p)
Like how I'm viewing it on a different screen, different settings (4K, DLSS Quality, no FG etc)compression, yada yada. The first zone looks good so I'd be surprised if it looks like that when I get to it.

The screenshot was only 1.9mb when I saved it, I have a .png I took in NMS that is 35mb so I think that speaks volumes. Image probably exaggerated any in game stuff.

I just got to the first town last night and my fps dipped down into the 40’s, on a 5090. That’s with maxed out settings but also using dlss quality. I’ve had to resort to using mfgx2.

Insane to think that a 5090 can’t hold 60fps while using upscaling.

RT On? Wouldn't bother on this (yet)

Yep performance just seems a bit rubbish at the moment, the game definitely needs a couple more patches to optimise it properly.

Plasma pistol is OP. Great visual effects too.

Love the final gadget, nice addition to the game. Although I did encounter a section where it fell to 15fps! It definitely didn’t like all the additional lighting until I switched the trap off!

4.1GB update on Game Pass, anyone have any idea what it fixes?
Ignore this, found the patch notes on Steam. It doesn't fix much;

Critical Fixes
Fixing saves crashing on load 100% of the time if bad data gets into the favorited item data.
Fixed several rare crashes.
(PS5 only) Fixed crash when game was started with only PlayGo chunk installed, and user progressed past Horizon point station.
Plug Puller Perk no longer prevents encounters from advancing.
Players will no longer have their conversation history reset at unexpected times during gameplay.
Cleared out portions of the map will no longer be reset.

Quests/Progression: (Contains Spoilers)
Players who encountered problems with Inez after meeting her at the Ministry of Accuracy should be able to progress her argument with Milverstreet now, even if they could not before.
Inez will now reliably play her intro dialogue lines when first encountering her in the Ministry of Accuracy, instead of on rare occasions playing her standard companion conversation.
Aza now properly starts a dialog and quest outside of the N-Ray Range if the player already at the N-Ray range.
OA Troopers no longer appear in the ACHQ at an unintended time. Loading a save from before fighting these units will allow players to progress the quest as intended.
Note: Players must load a save before the bug occurred. We are investigating solutions for a retroactive fix.
“Better than Nature” quest now correctly guides the player to Inez if is destroyed.
Otto’s Lock in Free Market Station is now working as intended and can be solved.

Audio/Visual
PS5 Pro now uses TSR for upscaling to address blurry grass on Paradise Island and unexpected lighting noise across the game.
Double jump boots no longer play audio at double volume.
(Xbox only) Fixed an issue that can cause some blue noise on the edges of grass and computer monitors.

Just started this, and not really sure I like it.

Something seems to have changed in me, as I'm starting to find the Bethesda/obsidian style of art direction, animations, story etc to be really off putting. Even in Unreal 5 it just seems dated and janky.

It's all just seems so twee, and all the characters seem so simple compared to other games.

Well it's no Baulders Gate 3, but what is?

Played this for an hour earlier and now uninstalled. I could not get into it at all.
