I'm not convinced it locks Horner out at all, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if Newey taking over is temporary with rumours floating around about Horner and Seidel being courted as possible long term TP successors.

They're going to swap out TPs like the RB 2nd seat swaps drivers.

It does seem weird that they'd put Newey in that position given his passion for design - no doubt he'd still be involved with some of the decision making but that's only a small part of the TP role. He doesn't strike me as the type who wants to sit in management meetings all day.

Don't tell Massa! Probably lining this up as part of his 2008 court case.

Sutil let Lewis through on the last lap on purpose!
I thought it was Timo Glock that Lewis passed at the bottom of the hill, to get the position he needed for the championship, having pitted for inters/wets while Glock risked staying out on slicks.

BBC News - First British F1 team's humble beginnings from shed
I wasn't aware of Bourne's motor racing history until after we moved near the town in 2023. I kept seeing this black silhouette of a car from that era in South Street and decided to look up the history of why it was there.
As a result we went to this in the summer https://www.magnetomagazine.com/art...rand-prix-debut-in-bourne-lincolnshire-event/
Such a interesting history to have from a small Lincolnshire Town. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourne,_Lincolnshire

Red Bull are confirming next year's line-up tomorrow. Final predictions from anyone? I'm going Hadjar+Max at the main team and Lindblad+Lawson at the junior.

Although I'd love to see a surprise seat for Fornaroli.

Yeah, I reckon you're spot on with both line ups. Well deserved for Hadjar too, hopefully it doesn't destroy his career if he has a few poor races and the occasional crash.

For me, I'm not sure if Lawson has done to justify keeping that Toro Rosso seat outside of the occasional solid race (not that I'd put Yuki back there) but I guess it's a good benchmark for Lindblad to have Lawson alongside and help develop the car.

It feels like he's being thrown to the lions. He's had a few impressive results but, for me, he's neither got the experience or the character to take that seat yet. They should be keeping him back for another year, but Yuki's been so poor that I don't think they'll do that.

I don't know what Lawson is for in that team, they've already tried him against Max and abandoned him after two races. But after a rocky start I think he's been Hadjar's equal admittedly without the high of a podium that Hadjar delivered so I think they'll keep him. There's also no-one obvious to replace him within their team: Goethe hasn't been impressive enough in F2 (neither has Lindblad for that matter but he's got a stronger history) and they've already dropped Marti from their academy. Which leaves them looking outside their academy which is where I think they should go (with Fornaroli) but I don't think they will.

Fornaroli joining the McLaren development programme for next season. Probably not the worst idea as I think its reasonable that either Norris or Piastri gets poached to go elsewhere in the next couple of years.

Better than nothing, but he deserves a race seat. I can see one opening up pretty quickly after things at McLaren go sour if they really do mess up the end of this season, or if Norris finishes ahead of Piastri as a result of the team orders at Monza. Or Norris and Piastri could be there for the next half decade. I hope a seat opens up for him after next year, but he could easily end up like Drugovich -- hanging around, overlooked but hopeful, until the inevitable move to Formula E -- if he doesn't get one for 2027.

Hopefully Isack can do well and at least gets some time to show his worth. Lets be honest he's up against arguably one of the best racers of this generation who is also fully entrenched in the team... So he's going to need more than a season to show what he can do.
