Im going to use this as my sig
@DJMK4 how goes the repairs? all sorted and how is the colour matching of the smart repair?
hopefully you got no grief from the other driver about the cost of the repair?
Why? Rear parking sensors aren't working, I doubt it'll be the battery..Just a word of warning - if it's a 12V battery issue it's unlikely to be covered as it's a serviceable item.
If they do diagnose it as that and it's not covered, you'll pay an hour of labour.

I've ISTA and Enet cable, so will check once I'm back.
It was me. You're welcome.Hi, yeh the bodyshop that someone reccomended on here (up to scratch) in caerphilly done a really really good job,
the repair they did was great , no visible or scratches i could feel, and the paint match they did was spot on! cant notice any difference at all between the colour on the repair area and the rest of the car.
Because a dodgy battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins with otherwise fully functional components. A common one is the window high and low positions being lost and needing to be retaught every few days. Why? Rear parking sensors aren't working, I doubt it'll be the battery..
A low battery was causing slurring gear changes and multiple drive train warnings on the idrive. A replacement battery resolved them all.Because a dodgy battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins with otherwise fully functional components. The fact that your radio and rear parking sensors have started going wobbly at the same time does point towards the battery, or it merely being a terrible coincidence.
ISTA won't tell you if the battery is duff unless there is something really obvious wrong. If the battery is kaput, yes, you might get an error code. But if you have one or two failed/failing cells, you need a battery load/discharge tester to confirm things like that. Halfords do a battery test for free this time of year, usually.

ISTA does actually have a battery condition test which gives a good report on the battery.
A code doesn’t need to be present to run it or kick it off.
Correct. I just had to replace mine, no chance with the warranty - it's viewed like a tyre would be.
The Approved Used Car warranty does cover the battery, but the insured warranty does not.
I don't recall saying ISTA lacked testing capabilities for the battery... I said it needs to be truly duff for it to flag it.ISTA does actually have a battery condition test which gives a good report on the battery.

BMW approved used? covers the battery ? what battery are you talking about here the 12v ? not in my case they wouldnt replace it and said its not covered with the used approved warranty
The battery is covered under approved used, yes. But it needs to be broken first which if I remember correctly is the argument used when yours wasn't replaced - wasn't it just throwing up a few codes?
