*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

If your clothes still fit well, your body fat measurement hasn't changed and you're maintaining fitness, I'd ignore!

45% of your diet made up of protein will result in insane farts... try adding sauerkraut and copious broccoli into the mix :cry:

I'm hovering around 90-91 kg at the moment. Grant writing and life busyness has required more calories to get through the day. The upside to this is that my fitness has improved from both cycling and swimming perspectives, creatine is probably causing some degree of water retention to account for the increase in weight and fitness and finally my clothes are still fitting!

The next problem will be the influx of Granny's mince pies. At least the kids are old enough to put up more of a fight over them!

Down another half a stone this month. Going to see what its like over xmas (Dont have any plans for splurging or anything but i sometimes feel a little more hungry but most times are fine) so might be moving up to 10mg. Still going well though 5 months, just under 3.5 Stone lost. If i can get down to 15-16 stone for my holiday in mid April i will be very happy and then see if i can progress past that.

Yeah, it's like someone has brought 10 Rottweilers home and has been feeding them kibble and zombie brains non-stop, it's insane.

I jumped on the scales, and I'm almost 2KG down from 2 days ago, (having been eating the exact same 2000cal per day for weeks), the fluctuations are interesting, my PT has told me to ignore the daily spikes of troughs and focus on the trend - which seems to be around a steady 84-85ish.

Overall feeling very good, lots of strength and energy - maintaining discipline is challenging, but right now I'm at Heathrow terminal 5 surrounded by food and I'm not that bothered by it, so all good.

I'm kind of frustrated by this headline. It feels odd that Obesity is now being defined as a disease and the WHO is now reporting that there's a "shortage of medication" to "treat" those who are afflicted by it!

I feel that a lot of of the food we eat these days is quite unhealthy and that, combined with sedentary lifestyles, is likely the cause of many people being overweight. I'd far rather see the WHO push companies to make food healthier (less sat fat/oiils, more fruit, fresh produce, etc) and promote exercise than labelling "obesity" as a disease then pushing product at the public so the medical sector and make a profit from it.

I've gotten stuck in a bit of a rut with weight loss, having gone from 14st 7lbs down to 13st 6lbs, then settled in around 13st 12lbs-ish.

I think I need to drop back down to 13st 6, mainly because I think I carry a lot of visceral fat, and because I'm quite muscular, I hide it quite well. Now may not be the time of year to adopt this strategy though, so I'm currently in a holding pattern, trying to be a bit careful, but still enjoy myself over the next month or so.

Absolutely unbelievable transformation @tom_e! You must be feeling amazing after shifting all that mass. Judging by your gym lifting there’s still plenty of gas in the tank!

I’m in a bit of a rut with busyness in life, Christmas festivities and other excuses. Exercise was going ok, but has fallen off a cliff over the last 2 weeks. Eating more has helped in other ways though. Swimming up to 100 lengths as a routine workout which I’m quite pleased with. Strava seems to think my FTP is up to 280W for 20 mins which puts me comfortably up above 3W/kg for the first time ever. Will hopefully be able to get to the gym over the weekend.

Essentially I need to stop doing stupid things like double carbing with dinner. Resisting mince pies is futile though.

Been nailing it on the exercise job. Mainly for training but I’ve seen a slight bit of weight loss. Been trying to run a little which I think definitely helps that side more than cycling. A relief given the increase in booze/food for Christmas.

What’s annoying is I’m now on a 13 day activity streak and I’m now getting in my head about losing it. It’s not even that long. Can’t imagine the pressure on people with months!

It's no bad thing to try and keep a streak. Mine from last year -

So is this thread going to be carnage after Christmas or is everyone (anyone?) going to be good?
I'm starting the invisalign diet in January so will be indulging a little for the last time. :D
