*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

So is this thread going to be carnage after Christmas or is everyone (anyone?) going to be good?
I'm starting the invisalign diet in January so will be indulging a little for the last time. :D

My hope is to be quite good. Although being in Spain helps, as there's no work meals out, family visits etc with boxes of celebrations everywhere. I don't think i put on *that* much last year. Having time off work to exercise more helps a lot.

I weighed myself this morning and just snuck under 100kg at 99.8kg.

EDIT - Looking at last year. I went into Christmas at 103.8kg and hit the 3rd Jan at 104.2kg which wasn't too bad. If i can do roughly the same again i'll be happy and then i hope to be quite strict in the build up to the Traka in May as there's only 4 months!

That’s great work this year! Nice one!

We both know it could’ve been a lot better but appreciate the festive spirit!

Also to set the scene I had an amazing beer today and bought 2 cans of it for tomorrow!

Had a can last week but absolutely unreal on keg

Started early April at 300lbs, weighed in this morning at 254lbs, started Wegovy on 10th November at 268lbs after being stuck at the same weight for three months after calorie counting for a while. Still on 0.25 starting dosage as its working for me so I didnt see the point in increasing, the removal of the food noise has been a gamechanger for me.

I joined the gym the weekend before last and in the first 11 days I went 7 times, basically did 2 on, 1 off routine which I think isn't too bad. Keeping up walking to work in between when it is no raining cats and dogs and eating the same thing as before. In fact, perhaps more than before because I came back from Japan and Hong Kong recently and still have a lot of snacks to go through!

First time weighing myself today and 1kg down.

Fabulous looking beer @Martynt74. There’s not a lot of point in me worrying about the diet this week. Food is for enjoying!

Merry Christmas everyone!

It truly was. Not quite as good in can as keg so might have to go back tomorrow!

Got out for a short run/hike this morning to blow off the hangover and the. Started again!

Currently about to bbq a 5kg short loin of beef :D

I've been good over christmas, haven't binged at all - my niece bought me a gigantic chocolate bar, and I've eaten a small slice of it each day 20-30g worth, and that's been enough.

Been at the gym most days, upping my PT training days to 2x a week in Jan, starting to look quite different - night and day difference compared to where I was last year.

I'm also carrying myself differently, I'm way more confident with a different energy - and I've started getting much more attention from the opposite sex - which was unexpected, but I realise I like it a lot as it's something I'd largely forgot about..

I've been single and happy for about 10 years, and this whole journey is changing so many things in a good way.

Awesome work guys. I’ve keep fairly active but having family here has meant having lots of snacks in which I keep grazing at.

Also got to work hard to clear out the Christmas booze ahead of a real effort in January and beyond. Been listening/reading to a lot of studies on impact of alcohol on fitness and performance in general which I’m hoping has sunk in a bit. I can definitely feel it in my running. Been around 2 months now and still struggling with fitness and I think it’s just hoq much harder it is vs cycling. If I can be happy with running fitness then my cycling fitness should improve massively too!

Well that’s turned badly. Was in a local town and saw a Bodega that had an excellent rum/whisky selection.
It’s been tricky to find anything locally here that’s not crazy expensive but this place had my favourite rum for only €24 a bottle which is a bargain (Diplomático Exclusiva)

Actually starting to feel a bit worn out from Christmas which feels a good sign now, and feeling pretty sluggish when on the bike etc.

Jumped on the scales this morning to check the damage as it's my first day back at work post Christmas so will be getting back into routine. 189lbs up from 182lbs at the start of the month, I'll take that considering I've spent the last 5 days visiting my parents so eating all their Christmas snacks and drinking Guinness :D

By this time next week I predict I'll be back down to 183/184 at most, then on to the big push to get down to 165lbs for the big 100lb loss and revaluate from there.

Yeah, I stepped on the scales myself this morning, after eating WAY too much at Xmas... and was surprised I've only gained 2½lbs. 0.4lbs over 16 stone though, so I really need to get at least 5 or 6 lbs off before my next cycling trip at the end of January.

To gain actual fat is pretty hard, to actually gain meaningful fat over a period like Xmas - you'd need to be eating 7-8k calories per day.

The weight will most likely be water retention from the way the body handles carbs, (from xmas dinners and stuff), along with additional food mass inside you - if you go back to normal and step on the scales, you might have only gained less then a pound of actual fat - and it'll just fluctuate anyway.

(I fluctuate +/- 1-2KG every day, not because of fat, but mostly because of water / mass inside me)

Don't worry, I know all this. But, when I go away for a long cycling weekend and eat a lot, I usually add 6lbs, so I'm surprised it's less than 3lbs.

Which is why I way regularly to take an average and always straight out of bed in the morning.

I’ve mostly avoided the scales. Not for fear of the outcome but as I also weigh first thing, but usually I’ll walk naked from the bedroom to the bathroom and then weigh myself.

Having guests means I’m now dressed before leaving the bedroom which is better for all involved.

I’m then too lazy to undress again to use the scales. Not helped by the fact the bathroom is poorly insulated and absolutely freezing!

Surely walking round the house naked lets the guests know who's boss?

I am NOT weighing myself until January!
