FG causes stuttering for me and many others in this game. Have to switch off ReBAR in BIOS. I'm curious if @TNA has this enabled or not.

I think it is on. On bios I have two options, auto and disabled. I have it on auto.

I did get s few stutters at the start but then it either went away or it stopped being noticeable to me.

Could be present but not bothering him.

This is what I am saying. Some need 120fps, some 60 and some even happy on 30. When I say it's fine for me, I mean exactly that. Might not be acceptable for you.

FG is not perfect. In some games I can deal with it. In others I cannot.

Driver version 591.74. In regards to latency what do you guysbuse to monitor it?

Not seeing any stutter. Happy to share my in game settings. I have a bunch of rubbish turned off like depth of field, motion blur, lens flare etc.

Before you slate me, i've never been one to play other RE modes ie Mercenaries etc. So i know of Hunk, Tofu etc, but only ever seen them in YT walkthroughs, so i didn't even realise it was
Hunk
i was fighting!

I did find this Reddit post/theory cool:

Plenty of evidence to support he’s still alive.

-If you go up the stairs into the hallway, and then back in that room, Hunk’s body is gone. There are also blood droplets in his place as if he got up and walked away. This is further proved to be intentional when you play Insanity, and there are more soldiers that show up - as you’d expect, Hunk’s body is the only one to vanish, and again the blood droplets look like he got back up.

-Hunk’s body is the only defeated enemy to not leave behind a pool of blood, the only boss to have his body disappear, and he is the only boss to not get a death cutscene.

  • Leon, Grace, and Emily are the survivors of the central plot, which would make Hunk… the Fourth Survivor.
-There is DLC on the way, and Hunk got a whole new design and I doubt they brought Keith David Silverstein back just to voice lines for a single boss fight. My guess, and a lot of other fans guesses, is that we are going to get another Fourth Survivor mini game where Hunk is wounded from his neck wound with similar game mechanics to Leon being sick, and he’ll have to get a sample of Elpis to cure his infection and fight his way through the BOW overrun ARK facility to escape and get proper medical attention - OR they’ll reveal that Hunk has some kind of virus like Wesker that allows him to heal/be more durable, and then we still get to play as him escaping the BOW overrun ARK facility and escape.

Either way, Hunk definitely isn’t dead given the evidence and that he’s a fan favorite in a Capcom game. Bet we also get a Mercenaries mode where the playable characters are Leon, Hunk, Zeno, and maybe even Chris’ team.

I enjoyed the game i thought it was great, i was hoping for more of the big enemies but overall its a solid 8 from me.

Was it just me or was the end variant of Gideon (Nemesis) a bit easy? Jill had to use a flipping biiiiiig railgun to destroy it after it had evolved several times. Gideon just lost an arm, grew a mutated one then got kicked over the edge of the platform and turned into the massive monster that Leon despatched with relative ease. The end wasnt as spectacular or tense as i expected from a RE game but overall a great experience. Oh and Zeno.. What a joke! LOL

Haha yeah I noticed this, I...
.. went back to that room thinking I might have missed something and was like... wait lol. It stood out because I remember the Spider and others staying around. I just thought to myself... Yep, Hunk never dies, that's his thing.

For Tofu, I shot him at like 3 windows in RPD and he reacts and makes a sound etc. Really not sure if there's more to it (don't tell me tho, rather figure it out myself if there is).

Agreed.

I think they threw the spider boss and the big boss plant as a way to waste player ammo - really random bosses where they could have had an old school boss coming at you - especially as the ARK doors were big and secure - they could have had a shot of Leon just making it through and the doors closing on the big enemy to chop them in half or just have them not make it in to fight another day.

As for the Gideon mutation, shotgun to the orbs and sweep the automatic rifle across the ground based orbs and he was done - where was my timer and rocket launcher? :(

Just on my second playthrough now. Getting some of the big challenges out of the way. Did the bloodlust one and on the way (Hopefully) to do the puzzle challenge.

I sometimes just check with the NVIDIA app built in overlay.

That worked. I am seeing between mid 40's to mid 50's. Bounces around depending on where you are facing.

I took a few pics with my phone i can upload if you want. As in game it wont let me screen shot. Not using print screen button nor nvidia app which says not supported.

That is with nvidia reflex on. Not boost. Didn't test that one.

I think 40-50's is fine. For me anyway :D

It ain't a twitch shooter ffs :p

Oh and I did get a couple of stutters. But that was like over a hour session. That is not an issue for me. Random a couple of times an hour is one thing. Happening multiple times per minute is something else.

People expect perfection these days or it's classed as broken.

Did a second run on casual for the no herbs, no blood collecting, and speed challenge, took 3h 40min. Fairly easy because of the partial health regen and parts you can just run past a bunch of enemies.

Started a no-bonus insanity run and just at the early care center with Grace, not sure if I'll apply the time/patience to play all the way but I really want to play more of the game. The Leon care center chainsaw part was even more nuts on insanity  , tough but a lot of fun.

I am playing standard classic. Two bites from zombies and your dead. Died at the bit where Emily is solving the puzzle. Only because I insist on headshots which are actually not as easy on first person mode somehow as they did great with head movement.

@TNA I was seeing double that on OW2! Not sure if things like DLSS mode effect it overall, res etc. I could live with 50 as long as it didn't feel weird.

Hopefully you get your code soon. Would be interested to see how you get on with it. FG 2x does lower latency, but not that much. For a single player game like this it is not a huge issue for me.

The best was spiderman 2 though. I used FG 3x and it was great. Without frame gen on the experience was relatively poor.

It is these experiences that have made me take FG more seriously lately. Because I have had many games where I could not deal with the artifacts etc and just turned it off. I guess it is getting better with time.

Yeah I did my first run on Classic, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much on Modern (less tension). Took me 14h+, there were several bits I had to retry including that one. I like how you can experiment with different approaches so I don't mind dying a few times here and there, it's a big part of what's great about RE. I thought the difficulty felt good overall, but a bit uneven in places and like others have said the final boss wasn't that challenging still.

The game is good. But I also find it stressful. You can't really relax and look around (I know that's the point). So I end up playing for about an hour then switch to BF6 for a respite.

I had a quick look. On + boost did lower latency a little. Will leave it on that setting and see if that has an impact on stutter. Who knows, maybe that makes it stuter more. Will find out tonight.

That is why I went with modern rather than classic for first go.

I am taking my time a but more this time, but overall probably faster as I know what's what now.

Luckily dying only set me back 10 minutes.

I think im near the end (the more open part).

I don’t know if it’s just me but……..The game literally feels like 7 for me in the way it’s more like a film with a set sequence, on rails. You have to do everything a set way to move on to the next part and the enemies do the exact same sequence. I’m finding it too easy, too predictable and a bit boring. All that changes is the setting slightly but you’re doing the exact same things over and over.

It feels like it was made for VR at its very early stages. Sort of like playing a VR game without the headset!
