What film did you watch last night?

The Housemaid (2025)

Starring Sydney Sweeney, who once said, "The biggest misconception about me is that I'm a dumb blonde with big ****". Well after watching this I would agree, she's not dumb.
This got better as it went along and by the end it turned out to be a pretty decent thriller. My missus and I both enjoyed it, me probably just a bit more. :)

7/10

Licence to Kill (1989)

By far and away the darkest and most violent Bond film to this point. I also have to confess to this being yet another Bond film in watching for the first time from start to finish. I've definitely seen the tanker trucks sequence before, which is actually very good. As we're all of the action/stunt sequences.

The villains and henchman are all mostly great, particularly Robert Davi, although some of them seem to have been lifted from an episode of the A-Team. Both the main Bond girls couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. The middle of the film is lacking a bit and slows down too much.

Michael Kamen's score was far too similar to his Lethal Weapon one and it was quite off putting at times. More than enough to take you out of the fact you're watching a Bond film.

6.5/10

One Battle after Another - DiCaprio + Sean Penn with decent performances in what is a monster 2hrs 41 mins. To be fair it doesn't seem overly long. Surprised with the host of awards it got but it's a good 7/10. Not sure about it's re-watchability

watched Shelter last night, wish hadnt bothered, low budget along with low quality acting, i liked the story, but seen it many times before.
i like Statham action films, but Shelter was worst of the bunch by a country mile

The Godfather (1972) - 10/10

A classic. Pretty much perfect.

The Godfather Part II (1974) - 10/10

Possibly even more perfect. Seems impossible every time I watch them.

I will watch Part III tomorrow. Never seen it. Always avoided it as I've heard bad things!

If you can find it, watch the HBO version of Godfather - The Complete Epic - 1901-1959

423 minutes long, yes just over 7 hours. Godfather and Godfather Part II edited chronologically and with parts that were shot just for The Godfather Saga TV miniseries version. It's my favourite way to watch The Godfather. Also the only version of it that's in HD.

There wasn’t much buzz around that release. Sounds like I should steer clear. ;)

Beekeeper has been my favourite Statham movie recently.

I enjoyed it more than Shelter, in which I thought the teenage girls part was the best acted.

Don't bother with A Working Man. The plot had everything it needed, but the movie itself was diabolical.
