Random 3D printing chatter

It will end up being a nothing burger as most of these things always are - they've got a huge amount of money and it will disappear, to be forgotten about, and people will carry on buying Bambu Printers.
This.

The vast majority of customers will have never seen the drama.

A huge number of them who have will have looked at it and shrugged.

One thing you quickly learn about the open source ‘community’ is that they themselves are pretty toxic, particularly to those who they deem inferior to themselves.

It’s almost as if almost all people are **** holes more often than they would like to admit.

My bike pedal seized up and needed servicing, and of course has a plastic non-standard axle cover that needs to come off. Free stl downloaded, 30 mins on the bambu at work and the pedal now spins freely again. 3d printing proprietary tools and skipping the wait for delivery or the need to find a shop is maybe my favourite use for 3d printing.

No thanks

I did get AI to summarise it and it only mentions a part failure which melted some plastic parts. Did it actually combust?

It also seems they were replaced under warranty so I’m not clear what the issue is.

I’m well aware he has been a loud voice on things like right to repair but it’s not clear how much influence he actually has outside of his own core audience

There is a a bit of an irony behind him constantly complaining about Apple gaslighting its customers when he makes a living from rage baiting his audience.
