Ferrari Luce EV

Maybe they just like the car and think it's good?

I wouldn't be surprised to see other journalists/reviewers end up putting out "You know what, this is actually really good" style videos once they drive it rather than just look at it.

who is "they" ? Jason Barlow ? The wider TG magazine staff ? their viewers ?

Jason undoubtedly does. I've seen the "they're only being positive so as not to lose access to ferrari press cars" argument and i'm not buying it. I do genuinely think that jason loves it. But it's obvious their readers and viewers don't have the same view, and putting out a video that's so at odds with what your viewers and readers (and no doubt some of the other staff!) views, seems risky to me. Or in this day and age of social media and clicks, is it a deliberate decision to say something controversial to get clicks ?

Given the comments by some YouTubers like Shmee and Doug DeMuro, etc. TG probably have to give a good review or get cut out in the future :( some of the practises some brands are pulling when it comes to the media are just disgusting.

EDIT: Though you can never be sure when YouTubers are manufacturing drama for clicks, etc. but a few have rather diplomatically alluded to practises by brands like Ferrari when it comes to this stuff.

Bang on. Ferrari are very famous for their diva attitude, and will cut anyone out who doesn't worship at altar of Enzo.

Jay Leno put it perfectly:

Also, I do wonder how if these car reviewers who "really like it" have factored in the cost. It's very easy to like a car when it's provided FOC for reviewing purposes, but it becomes a completely different dynamic when there's a £450k price tag in the way.

That being said, I'd love to know what the margins are on this car. Granted there'll be a ton of R&D to recoup, but I really don't see a £450k car.

If Ferrari sold these for £150k they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough. Maybe the price also factors in limited factory capacity?

Who knows. Either way not for me.

I might have been mixing up Doug and Jay in my comment above, I know one of them made some comments on it in a video in the last few months but I can't remember which video now.

I dip in and out of their videos from time to time but can't take too much of either of them.

Top Gear's youtube channel put out a video at the press launch, filmed by Jason Barlow who appears not to subscribe to the same views as the internet that this car should be set fire to as an abomination.

The comments section was full of hate for top gear, citing lack of journalist integrity, being paid off by ferrari etc.... and they go and publish another video. Also from Jason Barlow, also in a similar vein of heaping praise on the car calling it "the best interior of any car ever" and calling its 0.25 CFD "impressively low"

Is this just ragebait ?
