DLSS 5 preview

The feller that made it said he has no idea how to code but made it with Claude, Use AI to make AI, It's AI-ception :D

I get around 140+ on all ultra in Gothic 1, then adding DLSS 5 and it drops to around 60/70 with FG

I could though drop game quality, but I'm happy without alpha DLSS 5 for now

Also this one is good too -

Very simple to use
best one yet outside of manually doing it to use it in emulators/obs

Yeah interesting tech, it's not blowing me away tbh, needs to be in the hands of dev teams that can really make full use of it and disable it on the faces :)

In TLOU it looks worse. A YT video I saw in Cyberpunk PT 4K on 5090 went from 100fps to 60fps with it enabled, it looked different, but I couldn't say it looked better, not for a 40% performance hit, so whats the tech actually supposed to do exactly, because for 40% less frames I expect to be wowed.

It's to fix lighting in games where the devs didn't manage to achieve greatness? I fail to understand the use case. Or maybe a dev team can fire half the team and slap on dlss 5.0 at the end?

It's a substantial improvement in person, whether it's worth it or not is down to the individual.

I noticed it has major issues with grass and other scenes where different shades of the same colour are dense and packed, so it creates a smeary look and warping a bit like what you get with lossless scaling as it focuses in on the main action taking place, something that perhaps like you're requested can be ignored and they focus on specific things that each dev selects in the final product, but in cutscenes and slow paced scenes it's a massive jump even for xbox 360/ps2 era games.

Final Fantasy X Remaster from 2013... crazy.

Awesome this. Can have fun with old games.

Does it work on really old ones like Deus Ex?

I just used a video from youtube to obs for it and it struggled with pre ps2 3d games that are too polygon, subtle changes to the face etc even with neural stuff all maxed out, with some slight lighting changes.

I'll only be using it in the official game support. I wonder if they're put DLSS 5.0 in GTA 6 and Witcher 4, that's my benchmark :) And it's more about politics at this point. The studio, devs and creative team has to sign it off.. the fireworks will be rendered in either 4.5 or 5.0.

I've done a fair bit of local image gen myself using zimage, flux 2 klein, krea 2, making a ton of loras, had to stop using runpod coz I used £80 of compute in one month :) but I can do most stuff locally staying inside the 16gb vram. The point is what you might now be experiencing is where I was when first using image gen, it blew me away, at first and then you get to see its tricks and limitations.

Where are you guys grabbing the files and what is the process? Not been keeping up with it. Just enjoying pics posted on this thread.

Might try it in a few games myself :D

gta v (a game from 2013) with dlss5 already has better graphics than gta vi (a game from 2026) so I can only imagine how crazy gta vi would look like with dlss 5!

Go here and download the 1.2.0 .exe, Open it, Point it at your game, Install and that's it.

Once ingame you will see a "Press HOME" and it will bring up Reshade, Go to "Addons" and make sure Neural Rendering is there, It should be auto ticked.

Is this safe? :p

Isn't normal files a copy paste or more involved?

Thats if u trust ppl making these things.

Btw LA Noire would be good if it worked since they went to all the trouble of the motion capturing faces and expressions. Also why is the gta games not showing the strip clubs damn it. :D

Also mafia 2 i bet could be interesting with this, and has anyone tried it on the new indy game?
