It's 14nm, putting it on par with skylake. This is important, since skylake offers superior single core performance, but with broadwell e this will bridge the gap.

Thinking I might even go to a lower down tier with the next lot. I would like an 8 core but if it's $1000 it's gonna be to pricey, so a cheaper 6 core on 14nm might more appealing, then see what's happening with AMD's Zen later in the year.

Some of the Broadwell -E Xeon's might be worth a look as well..
