The RX Vega 56 Owners Thread

One of the PC's clocks really good! but brand does not matter atm they are all refferenced.
My MSI 64 is also a good card and the PC 64 also clocks very well (similar to the MSI)

But i need more time to test the cards. Only did some quick testing to see wich one was the best. Want to do more runs with all cards and add the best results per 50mv in the sheet.

Nice one, I just hope these reference models turn out better when it comes to the on board components.

Yep, I personally prefer powercolor or sapphire.

For custom cards i like MSI the most.
Refferenced for me is based on price since the cards are identical. But if the price is the same i think it would be: MSI , PC (good tech support in the past), Sapphire, Gigabyte, XFX

Turn out better then what?
Compared to the 290X?
VRM is overbuild, heatsink is also way better (290X fan has a high sound pitch) and with 20-30w higher power usage for Vega, Vega still had a lower fan speed.

Would the i7 3770 non-k be bottlenecking my Vega 56? I seem to get fps drops in games for no reason. It especially struggles to maintain consistently over 144 fps on overwatch, and reducing render scale brings no performance improvement.

Could be older high overclocked 4.5GHz+ CPU's still do quite well but 144fps is hard.
Im not able to maintain 144FPS in overwatch on 2560x1440 Epic (all max exept dynamic reflection on medium) not even with the 295X2 so i guess i was CPU bottelneked then with a 4790K @ 4.5GHz. With Vega its sometimes the GPU and sometimes the CPU that is not fast enough.

Whats the difference between C0, C1? my one is C3

That's a good question if you find out please tell us :D
Your what is C3? Vega 56?
The C0 revision is used in the AIO Vega 64's and the C1 revision chips are used in the air-cooled Vega 64 reference cards.

I just had a look at the linked review and that's an older review of an unfinished product from a few weeks ago..

I meant the AIB models, and that sounds good about the VRM and heatsink. I used to have a 390 before the stand in HD 6870 that's in my system right now, sold the 390 in the mining boom, so I'm gathering from your info that its better in power and thermals and the rest of it?

Time to download some Vega drivers:D

Latest 17.9.1 drivers seem to have fixed the power play states boosting for me, as I know a few others where having the issue. Balanced now boosts correct to high 1400s temps appear lower than before to. Timespy stock score has gone up to so that's looking better.

I'm really torn about getting myself a new Vega 56. I've currently got an RX480 and with the way prices are at the moment, it would only work out at about £150 to upgrade. I run at 1440p and have a FreeSync screen so would see a nice boost from the upgrade, just not sure whether to go for the reference card, wait for the AIBs or just hold off and buy the next generation.

I'd hold off if I was you.Wait for AIBs card.Amount of heat coming out from this card is crazy. Card needs to downclock it clocks to keep temps at bay.A better cooler is required.

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Vega 56.

Hardware acceleration on firefox really doesn't play nice with the 56. Was fine with the RX480. Not a huge issue but took me a wee while to figure it out. That's the old RX480 offloaded via a popular auction site so the upgrade only really cost me about £130! Very happy!
