1070Ti basically the same price as a 1080 in some cases, or a fraction lower in price than a 1080? I'd say it's a bit odd to buy one instead of a 1080
if you mine eth and game so dual purpose, then its better than a 1080 as 1080s suck for eth mining.
Also is it really the same as a like for like 1080? like fo rlike I mean same cooler, dont compare a premium cooled 1070ti to a nvidia blower 1080![]()
I also got the MSI Gaming 1070ti in the black Friday deals but have only just got around to installing it and playing with it.
The only game I've played with it is Street Fighter V and HWMonitor says the max temp was 91deg.
I'm not sure if the fan was kicking in at all as sat looking at Windows 10 desktop the GPU was hovering around 75deg.
I have EVGA PrecisionX installed and I've looked through the settings but didn't think I changed anything with the fan and have applied the default settings. Is there any way I could have changed fan settings? In the fan curve menu 'Enable Automatic Fan Control' is still selected.
Apart from that what are safe offsets to start with?
Under load the card maxed out at 64 degrees and ran virtually silent -- it was without question quieter than the case fans which are already quiet.
Thanks for the reply. I dont think my fan was actually set to auto control, I swear it was enabled within the options but there's a little blue fan icon on EVGA precision x to indicated automatic control is on.. I'm not certain that it was enabled there. Ever since I've noticed that icon, i've made sure it's enabled and I've not seen the high temps since. With the temps you have, I'd be looking to sort that out before trying any overclocking.
Just got my MSI 1070Ti, very pleased thus far.
Running a mild overclock boosting to 2GHz core and 8500Mhz memory.

I got one too! I didn't realise it had red and white LEDs running along the top of the card, very cool.
