The number of SKUs from AMD/Nvidia is absurd. It just confuses the average consumer even more.

There should be one GPU for each segment i.e. £100, £200, £300, £400.

Looking at the 5700/5700XT, one of the two shouldn't even exist as there is very little between them with regards to pricing.

Does feel pretty lazy with a soft launch and it don't help they may miss the black friday blood bath scene and Cyber monday chaos due in 3 weeks time, if they can roll out the cards early december would be decent but not sure AMD can.

I hate to say it but Nvidia at least launch and have the cards to buy, but am disappointed Nvidias 1650 super didn't launch, and 1660 supers are weird also since the 1660 ti is similar priced and similar performance, Nvidia prices have not dropped either so it just looks like Nvidia want a several cards @ similar prices to confuse the planet

I kind of do not get it, RX 590 will crush it and cost less or about the same. A 1650 can't pull the rice of a rice pudding. 1050Ti, RX 570,580, 590 and new 1660 Super are better buys. (Based on leaked info around web)

I've calculated the percentage difference in the benchmarks between a 1650 and the 5500 using a hardwareunboxed videos and it beats the RX 590 by a little bit in nearly all the games.

It looks like they'll pitch it against a 1650 with 1660 levels of performance, with the XT model possibly having 1660 Super levels of performance.

Well the point is the tiers are messed up.
If this card comes in where Gibbo's suggesting then that absolutely backs that up.

Sounds right, but there is the 5300 and possibly 5300xt maybe these models could compete with the 1650 and 1650 super, 5500 series is for the 1660 and super but who knows for sure.

I am hoping the energy efficiency is good with these new AMD cards and the hardware 4K encoders and decoders are improved as AMD claims, could just be sales talk though.

That would make more sense, the 5500 has to be 1660 levels to make sense

Not really. It's a bit below both of them. Stock 580 mark, it would seem. I expect cards with better cooling and perhaps an overclock to rise to the levels of the other two cards.

But yes, a reference card (assuming the OEM is cut down a tad) should close that 5-10% gap, and AIB versions should take it over.

Thought those OEM hp machines had the AMD 5300, maybe take that with some salt but could be wrong.

Its sad that AMD has kind of sit back and let Nvidia actually release and put actual items on the shelf and pretty much let Nvidia enjoy this holiday season.

I still fancy buying the 5300 or 5500 depending on reviews, prices and energy efficiency, fancy an up to date card with hopefully better hardware encoders and 8K, 60fps+ support so its just future proof.

Makes a lot more money for and no doubt with a cheaper made card. Bear in mind that Nvidia are the ones that pushed prices up to stupid levels.
