It would have been due to accidentally failing to put the code in, most likely. That or overexcitement at seeing the "Add to basket" button and not focusing on the displayed price

OCUK only reached the size it did, in no small part thanks to this active community, and as such ensuring the community has some kind of reward in such dire circumstances is the right thing to do.
It is just a shame that it has got to this stage in the first place, but first world problems hey.

Bit late to the positivity party, but cannot thank the OcUK staff enough for the chance to get this card! Been looking for an upgrade from this gen to replace my ageing 970 for a couple of months now. No way I would have got one this side of Christmas at such a great-for-how-the-world-is-at-the-minute price. Sucks that your brilliant idea seems to have been taken advantage of by the wrong kind of people, but just know you have made at least one gamer very, very happy!
You and me are in the same boat brother... No more 970gtx... Well mine gets religated to my backup system.

I am not into Scalping or trying to make a profit out of a hardware shortage.
Having said that I can not believe having read this thread and others how incredibly stupid and greedy some of the Scalpers are.
It is not hard to buy a GPU and then sell it on for profit without getting caught but it does take a little common sense.
I don't think there are any Mr Bigs of the criminal underworld lurking in the GPU forums lol.
For the record I have not bought any GPUs for the last few months and probably won't until the shortage is over.

My congratulations to everyone who got one. I'm hoping to be able to wait this out and get a nice next gen gfx card in a few years time

Got a 5900x on the way, I really hope I'll be able to pick up a gpu at some point so I dont have to pair it with my current 750ti LOL! But really awesome to see how OcUK are handling this situation - massive props to the team!
