MK1 certainly was a game changer in the looks department. Could hardly imagine leaving with an Escort during the transition period. Loved my dads green Ghia, even despite the fact it was the aweful 1.8.

My mum had one just like that when I was a kid, she sold it years ago but it was still going and being mot'ed until last year. Can't beat a mk1 focus. Your looks very lacking in rust which is nice.

I still miss my Mk1 Focus. I made the mistake of part-exchanging it for my next car; but thinking about it, I could probably have afforded to keep it. Should have done really, as there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it, and it was more practical than it's successor.
It was my first car, so I had quite an attachment to it :(

2 owners from new and serviced every year at Ford until 2019 (huge folder of paperwork) and had just been MOT'd and serviced plus new brake pipes fitted (total cost £200) a week before I purchased it for £650.

Great find! This is how sheds/winter hacks should be done. A year’s MOT on something as clean as that for £650 is really excellent.

A friend of mine got a car when they went to university - a real banger by today’s standards, but it had been well looked after and they paid £700.

Still going today - the only thing that’s gone wrong on it is the handbrake cable snapped :D

I worked with the Focus team before it was launched. I managed a team developing a configuration system that would feed parts needed to manufacture the cars on the production line. The Focus was the first car to use it and we had engineers defining the parts and the marketers putting together specs for trim levels. At the time it was codenamed CW170 and a competition was run for people to submit names for the car. Focus won. To this day, I am not sure if it was one of the entries or a marketers choice.

First owner had it until 2015 then second owner got it then sold it to his father in 2016 (So technically 3 owners but 2 were the same family). The father/third owner was a bit OCD it seems as he has wrote down every small thing that he has done right down to each time he changed the wiper blades and bulbs etc and I love it even more for that! He even put on a pair of new rear mud guards last year as one of the old ones had split.

This is going to be smashing near 20 year old motor!

GS460 arrived from Japan, seems decent, just waiting on Nova docs which are taking longer than normal. Not much to do, got new tyres there and a few bits that will sort it out nicely.

Looking forward to it

Also ended up putting a deposit down on an Ariel Nomad, long waiting time though so plenty of time to save

Always liked the look of the mk1, at the time there wasn't much if anything that looked like it. Their designs in recent years have been pretty pish by comparison, though i suppose that could be down to other makers geting more elaborate so it takes something really different to stand out, vs the boxmobiles we had in the 90's.
