Warhammer 40k : Rogue Trader - The people behind Pathfinder do WH40K

Just found this on Gamepass and am loving it. Quite a lot of the lore I have 0 idea about but the mechanics of this game suit me down to the ground. 24 hours in so far and just off to the first of 3 planets after Footfall. It's so tough managing the party, gear and skills but when you get your head round it all very rewarding. Am sure there's still plenty I need to learn especially ship combat.

Really need to start this, too. Have been putting it off for what feels like 18 months waiting for the DLC / expansions. Have enjoyed all the other Owlcat RPGs.

Well now I need to start yet another playthrough. It is extremely rare that I ever replay a game even ones which have multiple choices, which stands as a testament to just how good this game is. Absolutely nailed the atmosphere, I keep repeating myself but the music and narrative is just so on point.

I installed it and made a character. Went with a pyro I think it is called. Not sure I want to start it yet though as it is a long game. Want to complete a few other shorter games first.

@Kelt & @Nexus18 i uninstalled Avatar Frontiers and uplay from my PC last night. Just couldn't get on with the game. Cant stand character voice and the missions so far have bored me. Go sniff this or that to find this or that. Nah. I don't have time for that.

At least i enjoyed the graphics for a while. Got my £6 worth i suppose as it satisfied my curiosity.

Well after 4.3 days of gameplay I'm at the final boss. Think I'm about to just give up, I kill his 3 clones pretty quick yet every single attack I do barely tickles him and he has 17k hit points. From what I've read he's supposed to be easier to damage once his clones have died but I'm not seeing much difference at all. Tried multiple times and just end up knocking 1k - 2k off before he summons more clones at which point he's insta gibbed at least one of my party.

EDIT
Was playing it on hard so popped it onto normal just so I could finish it. Great game but very buggy. Looks like Dark Heresy is coming soon, just need to find something similar to it in the meantime.

What bugs did you encounter? I don't really recall any and that was close to when it launched and had way more. I think the only one I remember was Heinrix was constantly on my ship even though I booted him off earlier in the game.

Minor ones until the end. Players getting stuck, abilities not doing anything, pathing issues, hit mechanics all over the place.

Oh weird, I've seen the patch notes so I know loads have existed to fix them, I just only had a couple that I noticed anyway.

Surprise hit for me after playing through this on a whim, got 70 hours out of my first play through and enjoyed it that much tempted to do another at some point with some of the DLC's that flesh out the ship side of things / add new characters.

The joy of choice too as if I do another playthrough might go full zealot to get different choices / answers to questions.

For how little this is on the usual key sites if you like top down games then this will scratch the itch easily.

Keep getting put off starting this knowing there's some DLC coming out this year.

There could be a DLC for the foreseeable, so there’s no real point in putting it off. In fact, I had another survey about future DLC from them the other week.

Remains one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard, really ties into the atmosphere, there were quite a few composers on it.

I will begin this once I am done playing some of my shorter games. I feel if I start this I will be stuck playing it for a few months as it seems to be a long game. Need to get more backlog put of the way first :p
