Hi Fi System for around £600.

I’ve seen the Denon RCD N10/12 available for very little money. That would with a turntable would cover all the major bases for most situations without breaking the bank. HMV also have Lenco direct drive turntables available for a steal. I think those would provide a really nice system for the money that you could add to.

It depends if you want to go the 5.1/AVR route. To me 5.1 some makes sense for listing to live SACDs, but much less so for regular CDs or vinyl. I also wouldn’t pay anything close to £450 for that lot.

You can press "stereo" or "pure direct" on a AVR.

Also £450 for that is OK- CC do warranties as well?
second hand value?
Kef q towers, £120
Kef center, £60
Kef standmount £70
stands £40
Subwoofer £100
AVR £100

As long as the treble drivers aren't poked in (which a couple are?)

I wouldn't touch that £100 deck- utter junk

You can process the sound or turn off the other speakers.. A system like that is geared towards watching films. It’s also collection from London and would leave £120 to buy a CD player and turntable.

To me, a setup like that is a pretty terrible option for adding a CD player and turntable. I wouldn’t pay much at all for a system like that even for home cinema use and I wouldn’t even consider it as a HiFi.

ok then show what you'd recommend.

How is it terrible adding a CD player and turntable? That has analogue inputs, digital inputs, and phono stage.
