That's very interesting, but I think most of us want details about the HD2900XT/XTX.megatron said:

Well, no, the idea was that, if the standard were taken up, there would no longer be any such thing as an "SLI motherboard" or a "Crossfire motherboard" at all. Instead all graphics cards that supported multi-GPU operation under any circumstances would be capable of operating in multi-GPU mode on all motherboards that sported more than one x16 PCIe slot.neo202020 said:I think you can be sure it would be too expensive, too buggy or both to sell in large numbers tho'.
same here, im most interested in the XTX.Ulfhedjinn said:That's very interesting, but I think most of us want details about the HD2900XT/XTX.

Also the 2900XT is suppose to be compared to the 8800GTS not the GTX, as thats the price point the 2900XT is aiming for. Wait for XTX benchmarks and see how they compare with 8800 GTX.
I thought the performance was much the same as a GTX but that it offered better drivers and is possibly cheaper.neo202020 said:Not sure if you followed this whole thread but Gibbo was suggesting it's better than a GTX at GTS prices so given that this is a huge disappointment, to put it mildly.

I run 1600x1200 and GTL and GTR2 look very nice with 16AA and 16AF. You will love them at your res on your new card.QUOTE=Vogon 1920x1200 with 2 or 4 AA (FEAR perfectly playable at 2xAA, GTL/GTR2/IL2 1946 etc
