I’ve recently upgraded my little sisters pc so I have her old 3100 Ryzen cpu and a 970 gpu.
My mrs was using a 3200g in her pc and just using the onboard graphics. She’s a teacher and literally just does lesson planning / slideshows etc on her pc. She doesn’t game on it.
She’s wanting dual...
Little update… updated her bios / installed the new psu / 5600x / 7700xt
Turns out she’s running her games from an external mechanical hard drive and playing On a 4k 50 inch tv at home. Will be installing all her games in a 1tb nvme and she’s now playing on a 1080p monitor. Merry Xmas everyone...
If I didn’t go with a psu. I could get her a 4060ti for around 370. Is that a rip off? It says that the game runs better on nvidia even though it’s amd sponsored. Is there a way to see if it would work with the current psu (500w gold rated) without putting the pc all together ?
So I’m thinking 5600x (currently bidding on one)
4060 or 6700xt
750w gold psu. Should be able to do all that for under £600. Would you guys recommend anything else or would that suffice ?
Morning, just read over your post, thanks a lot for taking your time to try help.
I think I’ll go cpu/ gpu upgrade and maybe psu if you guys think it’s necessary. I just want to get it right because she’s dying to play her game but it’s too laggy atm. Proper feel like I’ve let her down since I...
Thanks for the recommendation. She’s already got the game I naively said wait to see if she could run it on low but it just keeps lagging in most scenes / crashing.
its that time where my little sister has graduated from her roblox only gaming and shes trying to play a new game called avatar frontier of pandora.
her current specs are :
AM3 3 3100
16GB RAM
NVIDIA 970
750 watt power supply
any recommendations?
thanks for any help.
Thanks for the reply/ info. What’s been putting me off probably for the last 12/18 months is gpu prices. Do you happen to know how the market is looking now adays things are going back to normal abit? Should I wait abit longer or are they low atm?
Thanks for the alternate build. I’m way out the loop. The last pc I built was for a friend and he has a 2700x. Is there much difference between amd/intel anymore? I’m really looking for bang for buck. I don’t need insane timings or frames etc. i just can’t afford much more than £1600...
Thanks so much for sorting that. I couldn’t fro the life of me figure it out. I clicked bb code and pasted but it just posted a load of code so wasn’t sure. Do I need to put anything I front of the code etc? Also any critic of the above mentioned build or is it okay to go? Thanks
just to note. I don’t upgrade very often as you can probably tell by my current set up so I really wanna try future proof for as long as possible as long as it’s not crazy out of my budget so let’s say it’s £50 over budget but gives a lot more future proofing then I’d love to hear any help...
currently rocking my trusty 970/ 4790k i7 build but i feel its time to upgrade.
budget is £1600 max.
i have monitors / peripherals so budget is just for the tower.
ive made a basket but not sure how to post it in the thread.
any help is muchly appreciated :)
