What specs were you guys expecting the new 9800gtx to have ??
Dunno about specs but after the 8800gtx i think everyone was assuming a card that delivered what the 8800 did when it was released over a year ago, that being a massive performance increase. From the info available the performance increase is gonna be pretty small, in fact id be suprised if the 9800gtx would be able to totally beat some of the higher clocked 8800 ultras out there.

Id have been gutted if after i got rid, this thing came out and was majorly faster, but im glad now, no more **** taking outa me, you been **** taking for long enough now Nvidia.

Your forgetting though, everyones card is out of date, even the 9 series are out of date, those are 14 months out of date the day they released, as they are all 8 series, everyones still on old 2006 tech regardless of what size core, name they called.

Someones gona buy one of these and go to their mates, i just got me new 9800 GTX, and their mates will say, jesus they still making them, i had one back in the day (2006) when it was called an 8800 GTX, but it had a bigger bus, how much you pay, £400+, wtf, for a 14 month old card, OUCH, should have let me know, you could have my 8800 GTX for that, which i bought in November 2006.

I know it's a bit late to be asking this, I've only recently been bothered about the 9 Series, but do we actually know if these specs are true yet or what? If it's leaked info from dodgy Chinese forums we've never heard of, or something like that, then surely we should keep in mind they're hardly ever right.

It can't be out of date if there isn't anything to supercede it? It's just standing the test of time, which is rare for technology I know, and that's good as far as I'm concerned.
I'm fed up of getting new stuff and reading a month later that there's something better available for the same price now. The life cycle needs to be a bit longer.........even just to keep my bank balance healthy!
Im pretty sure the specs are true, but I tihnk it will be priced to match the specs. I reckon it will be around £230-250 rather than £400 + and will exist just to make thew manufacture process cheaper for Nvidia rather than trying to be the next big card.
Unfortunately thats not very interesting for most of us

Only ppl who should buy these are those who don't have the 2900's/3800's/8800 series cards, as they are already in 2006.

3800 series owners will get a slight boost, which is not gona be worth all the extra £££'s, 8800 GTX/Ultra owners would be downgrading, and the G92 GT/GTS owners would be sidegrading, saying that the old 8800 GTS 320mb owners could buy them as well i suppose as be good boost for them.
Just depends how many want that monstrosity of a GX2, do they want to have to run as a single GTS, from their faster single cards, until Nvidia do those SLi profiles.

The GX2 ($599) is going to be the high end card and it will be cheaper than that, so i dont think im that insane this time

Looks like Fud thinks its mainly SLi, and TRi SLi they are mainly concentrating on with these cards as the 9600 GT's scale so well.
