Oh, for the love of GOD!!!!!

What in flying ****-land does Bernie have to do with this one?! In fact, what the hell has Bernie done that is so reprehensible?!

Nothing with this, but he made me sick for the last 10 years or so.

But him, Mosley, FIA have been bringing f1 down for 15 years know, since safety and rules got in the way of ingenuity in design. As I said this incedient is yet just another nail in the coffin of a sport run by buffoons.

Uh....telemetry, plus the cameras being on the pair of them (so Kimi's speed would have been simple to extrapolate).

How do McLaren have access to Ferrari telemetary? Considering how secret the teams are with their radios nver mind readouts from the cars.

Where's the speed check on this circuit?
perhaps Ferrari gave it to them
Perhaps they calculated it from the video.

Blame Max, not Bernie.

But the world will never really hear about all the decent stuff Bernie has done for F1 - mostly by his choice. Prof Sid Watkins pointed it out in his book, noting that Bernie had told him 'say anything decent about me and I'll sue you' :)

Anyone remember that Bernie was the one who phoned the Prof and flew him out to get help Frank Williams when he broke his neck? Anyone remember that Bernie donated his own helicopter to the medical team at one race since the authorities couldn't/wouldn't provide one?

You know what? Bugger it. I can go on pointing out all the good things Bernie has done in F1, but what would be the point? No-one on here gives a ****, they'd much rather bash him for being a businessman who - gasp!!! makes money out of F1. Oh noes, the horror!!!!1111oneoneoneeleven

Max is the one on a power-trip imo, Bernie has brought F1 from a sport that was in the duldrums to a International business with a massive following worldwide.

Fair enough he looks like a ferret but he never seems short of a pretty woman or two.

Its simple.

Max is getting his own back on Mclaren.
It just so happens that Mclarens direct rivals are Ferrari.
Im sure Max believes that Mclaren are behind the sex romp scandal with news of the world.
So Im sure Max has told the stewards to screw Mclaren over at every possible opportunity :) At the end of the day, F1 is a business, and sometimes businesses do use underhanded tactics.

Not quite sure I see the resemblance....:)

I'd be interested to hear them, or if there is somewhere that lists them all.
I only ever seem to see and hear about the bad things, namely things like getting rid of lots of good tracks for the bland ones that just pay more.

Tell you what? Go find a copy of Prof Watkins' book - "Life At The Limit". That'll explain what Bernie has done far better than I ever could. Plus it's a book that no true F1 fan ought to be without.

Massa almost has a point.

Almost.

Yes, in hindsight Hamilton could have stopped behind Kimi until the straight between Raidillon and Les Combes. He'd certainly have got him on the way into Les Combes as he was so much better under braking with the tyres having cooled down that far. But hindight is always 20:20. Hamilton, being the driver that he is, saw an opening and took it. It didn't come off, so he tucked back in and tried again immediately.

I can think of maybe one top driver from the past 20 years who would have held back, and that's Prost. Anyone else at that level (Mansell, Senna, Schumacher, Villeneuve, probably even Hakkinen) would have made the same move Hamilton made.

Funny you mention that, I was discussing the race with one of my customers and we were talking about how all the "greats" of the last 20 years or so (Senna/Mansell/Schumacher etc) were hot headed, made some bad calls and so on when they were new (and not so new!) but that never really applied to Prost, he was always a pretty cool customer. Not my sort of driver though, I prefer the ones with a bit of a ragged edge, Il Lione style

FOR SURE he was quicker but as far as i'm aware, massa didnt spin and loose a position, or go off the track near as much as lewis did. I think massa drove a solid points scoring race and deserved to be on the podium regardless of what the outcome of the stewards decision was.

In that case, put any muppet in a Ferrari, have him drive slowly around the track not taking any risks (not too difficult) and then give him the win when another guy finishes well ahead of him.

Massa drove a safe race. He didnt drive a race winning race. That accolade goes to Hamilton and Kimi who were the only 2 capable of competing with eachother.

Not saying its an excuse.. but certainly an explanation...

Ferrari was also nervous about Felipe Massa's engine after qualifying in Belgium, electing to change a spark plug and the entire wiring loom, with the consent of the FIA, while the car was in parc ferme.

Meanwhile, as he used the same engine that powered him to victory at Valencia, the Brazilian driver did not stretch his unit to its full 19,000rpm throughout the Grand Prix.

And more cooling = more drag.

After a spate of recent failures, the Italian marque elected to add further ventilation at the top of the side pods of the F2008 in an effort to preserve the engine.
