Well Ferrari never formally lodged any complaint, they'd be the first to file a complaint in the event of Hamilton/McLaren doing wrong.

Ferrari Team Chief said:
Domenicali stressed that Ferrari had not protested against the manoeuvre that saw Hamilton take the lead from 2007 champion Raikkonen after being forced wide at a chicane when his initial bid to overtake failed to come off.

And Ferrari's team principal indicated that his first impression of Hamilton's subsequent successful charge at Raikkonen at the next corner was fair.

'This is racing,' he said.

Asked if Ferrari had instigated the investigation into the incident which has plunged Formula One into chaos ahead of this coming weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza, Domenicali replied: 'Absolutely not. We were summoned by the steward at the end of the race.'

Domenicali refused to condemn Hamilton's driving at Spa's Bus Stop chicane where he dived down the outside of Raikkonen's Ferrari

Add to that Niki Lauda calling it a perverted decision and the FIA seem to be fairly isolated in their interpretation of Lewis having gained an advantage from it.

So I take back what I said about loving F1 when its like this, IMO, how the sport should be.

Instead, I've discovered its run by a bunch of cymbol bashing monkies.

Ferrari drop some notes the FIA's way and LH gets knocked for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Bring back Ron Dennis to Ferrari. At least he had 'some' integrity.

So sad...

Well I didn't think Mosley should have resigned over the sex thing but this on the other hand is clear evidence of bias which has been going on for a number of years as many, i'm sure, have pointed out.

There needs to be a review of all the FIA decisions over the past years and time for a complete change at the top.

Oh I blame FIA and all of F1 management for slowly killing the sport over the last 13 years +..
This is yet just another nail in the coffin.

Every long time F1 fan I know from real life and F1 forums has had enough of the politics in F1 being more in the foreground than any racing. Blunder after blunder. I more or less only watch the first 5 and last 5 laps. For years I've done that now and hardly missed anything noteworthy.

You know somethings up when even with the great lewis hamilton to get british interest back ITV where happy to let it go elsewhere.

I would love to see F1 break up and another series formed.

Im adding some humour to this crazy situation, its that or I might cry.

Meanwhile, Massa is next for the engine check...

Well, they've got to check each engine design....and Massa is driving in this championship....so it isn't desperately surprising that they're checking the engine.

Bit of a coincedence after the fiasco yesterday ,don't you think.

Why?

Im adding some humour to this crazy situation, its that or I might cry.

Don't be daft.

There could have been anyone in second place, and they'd still have penalised Hamilton. The stewards/FIA/God (delete as appropriate for your level of wittering) aren't pro-Ferrari - they're anti-McLaren. Instead of venting about Ferrari - who didn't protest this with the stewards, they simply reported the facts as they saw them when called up - how about you direct the blame at the correct target? Those three tossers who were the race stewards. They're the ones who should be copping the flak, not Ferrari.

And Christ, if a Ferrari driver had to benefit at least it was Massa! Kimi has been driving and acting like someone very unworthy of a Formula 1 title of late, and the end of this race was no exception. I know this forum has a distinct anti-Massa undercurrent, but you have to admit - he stayed on the road when his illustrious champion team mate fell off, he stayed on the road when The Messiah™ spun, and he stayed on the road when the rain came despite a lot of people predicting that he'd throw it straight off the black stuff. Has he not earned a small amount of respect yet?

No?

Oh well.

The FIA make me sick, bernie makes me sick. The entire management of F1 makes me sick.

Oh, for the love of GOD!!!!!

What in flying ****-land does Bernie have to do with this one?! In fact, what the hell has Bernie done that is so reprehensible?!

He's made F1 a very profitable enterprise.
He brought in Prof Sid Watkins to help bring F1's safety measures up to standard.
He helped the aforementioned Prof many, many, many times over the years with any logjam that the recalcitrant circuits threw up.

Again - direct your anger at the FIA and the stewards, not Bernie. I swear, some of you talk as if he's actually Satan.....

JRS, I agree its the stewards im mad with not (in this case Ferrari) and so as I said I was merely trying to add some humour to the situation.
I didnt write that myself, I copied it from another forum, where the feeling about yesterdays race is much the same.
Feel free to report my post as its off topic and have it removed.

And FWIW, I prefer Massa a whole lot more than Kimi, he has certainly proved deserving of the points he has won this season whilst mostly living in Kimis shadow.

It wasn't off-topic, though :) It was very much on-topic. I might report it for being a crap joke, but then I'd have to report virtually every single thread in GD on some days....and I just don't have the time!

Actually, maybe it is funny. But I've just lost all the sense of humour I ever had regarding the tired old accusations about a Ferrari bias at the FIA. Maybe it's different for the Ferrari fans who sat through some horrendous seasons waiting for them to find their way again. I mean, no wins at all from '91 to '93. One win in '94 (Berger at the German GP). One glorious, brilliant, epic win in '95 (Alesi in Canada :D:D:D:D). Schumacher winning a few times in '96 (making the rest of the drivers look silly in Spain, beating Villeneuve in Belgium and taking that emotional win at Monza). And only then do we get a half-decent title challenge.

Lord only knows how the fans who stuck with Ferrari from '80 onwards feel....

there is a whole section in the rules under the overtaking section

The rule in the code of conduct under the overtaking section is:

g) The race track alone shall be used by the drivers during the race.

There is no mention of overtaking there. Despite the fact that it is in the overtaking section, that specific rule doesn't mention going off track "to perform an overtake", it just says you can't go off the track.

Anyway, Lewis didn't cut the track to overtake. He was behind Raikonnen before the bus stop chicane, and he was behind Raikonnen again after the bus stop chicane. The fact that he'd let Raikonnen through on the S/F straight means he had less momentum - physical, actual, cold, hard fact.

If someone drives past you they have more speed. Momentum is a factor of mass and speed. Raikonnen drove past Hamilton down the straight, ergo, he had more momentum. There is no magical cup of extra momentum.

Raikonnen then braked ridiculously early for La Source. Hamilton, despite having less momentum was able to come alongside and outbrake him - a totally legitimate maneouvre. It appears the top brass at Ferrari thought it was all fair and square as well.

It's just the meddling idiots at the FIA who thought otherwise.

Plese stop calling the last corner the Bus Stop - The Bus Stop was removed when the pits and last corner were redone.

It was the stewards that made the decision, not the FIA.

How do McLaren know that Kimi was 6km/hr faster over the line than Hamilton?

And if the FIA were so anti-McLaren then why are all the standard ECUs this year made by, yep you guest it, McLaren:eek:

Wow, I agree with JRS for once :D , this is certainly more to do with Max's vendetta against Mclaren rather than the normal pro-Ferrari bias.

Seems like a lot of things are happening to people who have gone against Max lately, like the ADAC possibly losing their race at the ring.

Plese stop calling the last corner the Bus Stop - The Bus Stop was removed when the pits and last corner were redone.

Meh. I still refer to Lowes Motor Speedway and Infineon Raceway by their old names (Charlotte and Sears Point respectively), I'm not about to start calling that final turn at Spa anything other than the Bus Stop :)

How do McLaren know that Kimi was 6km/hr faster over the line than Hamilton?

Uh....telemetry, plus the cameras being on the pair of them (so Kimi's speed would have been simple to extrapolate).

Wow, I agree with JRS for once :D
