TBH I didn't initially see the point in using them but as you say, it does stretch the seal at the back a little so I might change them around at some point.

Thanks. The caddy is one of these and as you can see its not cheap but it does the job well.

Just wondering if someone who has the Fortress can answer a question for me. Does your front fan make a slight ticking noise? Its not noisy but I can just hear it.
 
would the filter cause that ticking or is it the fan itself?

@ Diggsy - You were right with the filter on the Kama Bay. Even trying to secure it a bit firmer didn't resolve it so i took it out!

@ Willy - Once i get this case (when OCUK get them back in stock) you do realise i am one of probably many which will use those funcky orange fans you have as they do make the setup look the dogs

I used to. The mobo & CPU (gigabyte P35DS4 & Q6600 GO) got it up to 3.2 gig over a short while. But after reading on here a high end dual core was better for gaming I bought a E8400 & HD4850 & put that in the Akasa. The former was put in the silverstone & now runs at stock. The HTPC is used for video editing as well as HTPC duties. (I use an external drive for video storage)
Said cooler is a Sythe ninja mini, used by most here for HTPC CPU cooling duties.

Mine used to make that noise. I took the filter out and put it in again and the noise better but not perfect. Took it out again and tried the other way around, no noise at all but more difficult to take the fan out. So put it the other way around again and voila, no ticking noise :D

finally cracked and made my mind up to get a fortress case,probally gunna have to give up smoking to afford it though:eek:Not all bad i suppose get a sexy new case and improve my health...everyones a winner:D

Willy - what are the Xigmatek fans like noise wise? Are you running them at 12v?

That will look amazing.

Noise wise is not too bad actually, not that noisy to me and it doesn't like a jet :D

I'm just thinking another project with my Fortress and might be selling my Xigmatek actually, but still not sure yet :)
