muppet, definitely on the phone in the morning lol

me posting my stupidity here has saved me some money. muppet!

yeah, must be an uncommon size as well as the normal rears are 255/35/18s and they are currently £118!

spot the idiot
<------

Thanks rG-Tom :]

Reminds me i need to get the ditchfinders off my car as soon as possible, luckily both tyres fitted only come to £70 :D

Yeah, would have been a bit wee'd off when i took them to the garage to realise that they are rubbish!
What a cockle hehe

done no work to the golf for months. whipped the inlet manifold off the other week so i could clean up the cam cover and paint the manifold black. if its black, you wont see the dirty black hand prints on it

Yeah I just shelled out £500 on my vectra this month...

Full Service which they picked up I needed -
Both front wishbones replacing (these were an advisory on last MOT)
New rear pads and disks

Still have both rear springs to replace as well...thats another £80-£100  Hate the hugemongus speedhumps on my estate.

Hopefully, come the MOT in December everything should be Ok lol

Bah - amateurs.

I've spent £840 on rear brakes (without the discs which luckily I already had otherwise £440), £110 on full allignment at WIM and about £150 in fuel.

The previous month was about £650 on a new MAF and both o2 sensors.

Happy days!

Is that on an RS6?

B5 RS4 - the parts are stupidly expensive.

I needed new rear brakes as one calliper was seized and the discs were shot. B5 prices are: £237 per disc and £144 per calliper. Add in pads at about £60 you have the best part of £600 IF it was jsut one calliper.

So i did the reasonable thing and went for the B7 upgrade (have them on the front). This is all brand new bar the discs (which I was lucky to have a set of from a mate) and I fitted the lot myself to save £400 in labour.

The £650 included labour as I had no idea what was wrong (no faults in VAG com) and the specialist couldn 't source either. I think it was one of the O2 sensors in the end but everythign got replaced for piece of mind.

I feel your pain:
Cambelt
Front and rear pads
Mot
Tax
Insurance
Service
New front tyres

I'm now broke.

Completely different level of cars, but my 306 needed 3 new wheel bearings, 3 new tyres, 2 ball joints, clutch and other things sorting on it. Was coming to well over £600 and my car wasn't worth that so I sold it. Luckily a lad in the garage wanted it for £300, so I sold that and got a 12 year old Almera for £500 with only 66k miles on it - I totally hate the ugly looking thing, but it was a bargain for the price and mileage so I couldn't say no! Passed it's MOT with flying colours too.

Just a shame it's not nice to look at, not even the slightest!

It sucks when it gets to the point that the repairs cost more than the actual cars worth. I do miss my 306 had it 4 1/2 years too.

just spent another €1000..
service
2x rear pads and discs
2x conti sportcontact 3s

and some other small things like window regulator, wheel arch lining and fixing the door seals as they were leaking AGAIN. seriously, they don't even last 10 months

Nothing :p

But watching the rust grow down the bottom of the join between rear panel by the arch and skirt is worrying now. It's filling like a damn water baloon.

Will hit the Sunny with a hammer so it mans up and stops being such a fairy !

December was a little expensive for me, in a similar way, Tax + MOT + 2 new front tyres, 2 front disks and pads, I think I got some change from £400...
