Terrible Motoring Month :(

Shoulda bought a Honda.

Even last year when I had brake pads, engine mount and the major service & MOT I spent about £400 replacing with OEM parts at my favoured specialist.

Will be needing front brakes again this time on top of a £120 minor service and MOT on top. Tyre usage is a concern. 4-5k on these last two front tyres.

Morba, out of interest - do you use normal Diesel or V-Power Diesel?

As for costs, I had to pay for M3 insurance - so a pretty bad month :p

I haven't spent a penny since the service/mot last year, not counting fuel and washer fluid.

But then I've spent a shed load on it since 2006, I'm not sure there is much left to go wrong.

Some of the more memorable items:

new shocks/springs
new wheels/tyres
new full s/s exhaust system
ECU
new oil pump
new rear discs/pads
rear diff seals replaced.

Hopefully my clutch and turbo are still in rude health and will keeping going, at least for the next 12-18 months.

Normal diesel for me, unless vpower was going to be significantly better i cba with the cost.
im getting 33.5mpg average (not been reset in ages now) so a couple mpg extra wont make much difference!

oh, acceptable insurance expense though imo :p

talking of insurance, i've been driving without any since april!! stupid insurance company didnt roll the insurance over after i called them and got it cheaper from them.
they said if i would have had an accident they would have covered it though, as it was their mistake!
not good :(

Ive now had my Ford Cougar a year and it had its MOT end of last week and cost a grand total of £39.99 :), in the year Ive owned it Ive done about 4,000 miles and the only cost apart from fuel, insurance and Tax has been for a pack of fuses as the cigarette lighter didn't work and I needed it for my tomtom.

Its probably due a service soon as its been 12 months since it was done but I don't exactly rack the miles up in it, its done 42,000 now ...not bad for a 10 year old tank :)

Had to change the P/S rack on my car as it was leaking (which turned out to be a pipe, grr)

Next month MOT & Tax. It hurts when you're a graduate still looking for a job :p

What sort of shock is it that costs £550???

They're not air suspension or something are they?

Honestly, I have no idea. But I know it's oil filled, or at least that's what I've been told. Only two options for the Sports set up, BMW OEM or Bilstein

Still crying over my car . . . . £2500 in last 2 months

2 x New air con Condensors
2 x new radiators
2 x new rear trailings arms
2 x Oxygen Sensors
1 x Service

Jaz porsche in Wembley - trust me they are NOT feeling the credit crunch !
