right then - as promised Cinebench results

just for Big Wayne :D
they are max cpu clocks i could get in 20 minutes per bundle
using max memory frequency i could achieve in the time given

apologies if the clocks dont match up it was a rush job tbh

Thanks for the results rjkoneill. As expected, the extra threads on the 860 gives it an edge in the Multiple CPU Render Test over the 750. Do you think the gap would have widened much more if the RAM on the 860 had been running at the same speed as on the 750?

Could someone spec me the best RAM for the I5 along with Asus P7P55D. i'm currently thinking of this > TW3X4G1333C9DHX - 4GB (2x2GB) CorsairTwinX XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333MHz), 240 Pin, Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, DHX, or would i be better with 1600Mhz ? Thanks

Are you overclocking? If yes then get the GieL

If not then

Although that Ripjaw will still get you decent overclocking results - 4GHz+

thanks, I'm not planning on overclock no, so you think Ripjaw would be better than the Corsair 1600Mhz ? > http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-193-CS&tool=3&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387

Well I got my Noctua fitting bracket earlier today, now I've fitted it my temperatures are much better. sitting high 20's idle and around high 40s ...50 under prime95 for 15 minutes at stock speeds, turbo mode on of course.

So far I seem to have it nice and stable at 3.8GHz, hitting 68-70 under load on P95 with 1.35v in the Bios although right now CPU-Z reckons it's at 1.264v ...strangely ..haven't tried to go further yet. Pictures either later or tomorrow.

I have noticed even when I let the machine idle, CPU-Z doesn't record it lowering the clock speed, I have Turbo mode turned off but I do have EIST and C1E and all that other stuff turned on still, shouldn't the cpu clock back when idle ? ...or is Turbo mode required for that to happen on the Lynfield ?
