Mini keyring-sized digital camera/camcorder

A sample!

The one from lunch was somehow aiming not at anything....kind of hard to aim when there's no viewfinder :p

(wait for processing!)

Boring Khaaan; you could have at least recorded you camping somewhere in BC2. :p
Cheers for the sample all the same.

Can you change the date on the vids?

:), just found this site which has all the info plus more to remove or change the timestamp. Loads of good stuff here.

*Edit. Sorry for the repost on Chucks site. :)

Time set ta!

Right-click this tag.txt file (32 bytes) and download it.

The tag.txt file has three parts: header, date and time. The exact required format is discussed here. The word "date" must be lower case.

[date]
2009/12/29
16:58:00

or

[date] 2009/12/29 16:58:00

Modify the tag.txt file with your date time. Use a text editor (like Windows notepad or equivalent) that will not corrupt the file. If you corrupt the file, the date time will not be set. To be accurate, the time in the files should be the future time when you will turn the camera on.
1. Connect the USB cable.
2. Copy the tag.txt file to the root of the camera drive.
3. Disconnect the USB cable.
4. Turn the camera off.
5. Turn the camera on. The camera reads tag.txt, sets the date time, and deletes the file.
6. Take a photo.
7. Connect the USB cable. Verify the date time on the JPG file.

Took ~9-10 days for my pair of mini cameras to turn up.

One was rattling on arrival opened, it up with a mini screwdriver then had to find and tighten up a screw holding down the PCB which had somehow got loose.

Ordered a couple of cheap 8GB microSD cards which still manage to cost more than the cameras :p

Should have them running by this time next week :)

Think I will knock up a 30mm or 40mm cannon to launch one from, something that could toss it up a few hundred metres.

got mine today, I ordered it on 31 march and received it now, 10 days, from the seller of the OP.

Bad news: It came damaged/cracked. Going to have to ask for replacement.

:(

2 of the buttons are stuck in the pressed in position.

Oh, lol, it might still work then, still I'm going to ask for a replacement and hopefully, if this one still works, just superglue the broken bits in place again of the casing and use it.

Don't have a micro SD yet to test. Pc recognizes it fine and the orange led first flashes then it's on constantly when I plug it into my pc.

Can't see how that would happen in transit snowdog. Over enthuthiastic customs?
Anyway, hope you get a replacement aswell.

All the bubble wrap on the inside of the envelope/packaging whatever you call it was burst, as if much pressure was put on it.

It was very tightly packed with a usb plug too:

I have just done this :
Q. I don't know if the camera or the flash card has a problem.
A. Charge the camera, disconnect the USB cable and remove the flash card. Reset the camera. Press the power button. The LED should come on, flash 35 times and then go out. If this happens then the camera is probably OK. Suspect the flash card.
It flashes 35x fine ( the last flash is a long one, is that correct ?) and then turns off.
I don't have a tf card yet, I hope it'll work and if I'm lucky, end up with 2 for the price of 1 ( regardless if it works or not, the casing is still broken...).

By the way, can this thing be overcharged or does it automatically stop after a while? How long can I charge it ? Because lipo batteries tend to catch fire if overcharged :(.

Just been for a 8 mile bike ride with my mate, recorderd the whole trip from the handbars, excellent quality and worked great. Good job we did record it too as a car nearly took my mate out on a bad corner. When i get chance ill cut the scene out and post it up.

Just tried to get some footage from my RC car but it turned out a bit crap tbh. Far too bumpy and the picture is just constantly rattling. Need to try and sort some form of vibration dampening out.

Also as soon as i started messing with the car little kids just spawned from nowhere and started asking me constant questions about it so I had to cut it short lol.
