I'm using the 2.1 Modaco R3 ROM. What ROM are you using? I use the symbols on touchpal all the time and it makes typing so much easier. If the newer ROMs have removed them then I certainly won't be updating mine!

Looks like someone's uploaded Seb's r7 de-orangeated ROM here.

n.b.
The 'lite' link is the main ROM (64MB)
The 'addon' (9MB) adds live wallpapers/touchpal/zte apps etc.

The newer ones are TFT. OLED are older models apprently.

Just picked one up. Its a B08 and looks like a TFT screen but its still pretty good. Now just need to go and start fiddling with it.

Btw I think I have let the Orange sim register. Got some text messages about thanks for topping up and here is your phone no. Is that everything?

Yeh i got that too when i first fired it up with the orange sim in, after that i took the orange sim out and put my 02 one in and unlocked the phone.

Struggling to get data connection working here... I've entered the APN settings for TESCO etc, anything else I need to do?

The Mobile networks screen says "Data connection failed".

Yeh thats all the credit should be added insantly. I know on the website it doesnt work straight away taken a few hours.

I'm looking for a video or screenshots to put a different ROM. Don't want to bust the phone. Looking for one that is 2.2 so I can use iPlayer and Google Docs.

Everyone seems to be releasing rebranded ZTE Blades now, even Dell are releasing one in India.

There all using TFT now, the new finish ones, the jap and china ones and the dell indian one.

Notice it says Android 2.2, so looks like an official 2.2 ROM should be coming soon. The Jap version goes on sale on the 24th.

I'm running 2.2 on mine now. Well worth the upgrade seems to run much smoother after they got rid of all that Orange junk.

Also the Camera is better.

Orange have already said that the San Francisco will never get an official build above Eclair. If you want to try Froyo or Gingerbread then it's going to have to be an unofficial build.
