Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Tablet

I love it, but I think I had higher expectations. I guess the main let down was the inability to play 720p MKVs without prior conversion. WiFi Tethering works really well and I think I will need to increase the data allowance on my phone, lol.

Are there any widgets you would recommend?

I was very tempted to get one of these, but the lack of SD card for the non 3g version disappoints me :(

May wait for the next wave of tablets to come out

It does look beautiful though!

I have been thinking that I'd end up giving up my laptop and just using a tablet. I'll have a HTPC for video watching anyway

The case is just right:

turns into a stand:

and slightly angled for typing:

All the ports are accessible and just right for travel.

nice...

still set fore August release in UK?

I’ve not heard anything and would assume that it is. Maybe they’re waiting to ship them with TouchWiz UX. You would have thought that production would have been sorted out by now. I really can't see why they are delaying for so long.

Still interested in one of these but for mostly browsing the Web, iPlayer etc is honestly my own use. just since using the Galaxy S2 its so god damn quick over Wifi, can that be any kind of bases how quick this would be?

I have an iPad 1 but its so slow compared to the S2.

im still interested if the price is right, part of me says miss this one and grab the next gen, but the other parts says balls to it, you don;t get any interest in the bank!

couple of questions,

i have a lot of avi files i have 'acquired' mainly tv series and films, do these play straight out the box or would i need to encode them? also how is the best way to transfer from a pc?

Compared to the SGSII the tablet is slower, which it is bound to be as it has an older and slightly slower CPU. However it does everything I would want it to do, and works really well tethered to my SGSII. Replacing the stock launcher with ADW helped the "lag" issues many mentioned, and I am sure as the latest update rolls out (as well as various custom ROMs) this tablet can only get faster.

As far as videos are concerned, it plays all the AVI files I have thrown at it (I use Mobo Player with hardware decoding). HD files (MKVs) will need encoding as only 1 of the 7 or so 720p/1080p music videos I tried actually worked, but after a quick encoding job they worked flawlessly.

After the exchange rate and business expenses, my tablet worked out to be roughly £350.
