Fallout: New Vegas

I'm glad they have sorted the issues Project Reality had, it really is essential imo, best weather effects by a mile.

The idea was to simplify it, but of course I have gone OTT:p

I think I have my game pretty much how I want it now. Looking forward to playing it, as I haven't played any of the dlc's yet. It was always my plan to hold off until they had all been released. Here are some screenies of my game just running around Goodspring-

The visual mods that I am using are:

NMC's texture pack lite
Project Reality mk1
Enhanced shaders
Weapon texture replacer
Project Nevad(changes the HUD a bit)
Primary Needs HUD
DarnifiedUI
Beware of Girl type 3 Hi rez(female body replacer
Breezes New Vegas Males(male body replacer)
Wasteland Flora Overhaul

Getting good performance so far. I probably should have downloaded an extra perks mod, but i forgot so i'll have to get one.

I haven't had a crash yet, though I have done all of the fixes possible!

I was getting one really weird bug where the game would start wigging out and freeze and then wouldn't start up if I restarted it, but it seems to be something to do with AF, once I turned it down it was fine.

I think I'll thin down the mods I'm running, then have a look at some of the fixes you can download from the nexus. When I eventually get 100% happy with FNV I'll post my modlist.

Wow, the game looks great in some of those screenies!

My laptop isn't quite up to the task unfortunately, although I am replacing it this summer.

Might have to revisit this game, I only played through it on the 360.

My game runs much smoother now since I did a master update, though I do still get the occasional ctd. I am going to properly look through FNVEdit tonight to try and get to the bottom of it.

Ultimate Edition

I see the inevitable Ultimate Edition has been announced now, due on Feb 10th

I forgot how brilliant this game is! Still not done any of the dlc's yet though.

I love it too. Buggy, but worth the CTDs ;)

Working through Dead Money now. It's great, although the first section wasn't to my taste. There is some really great characterisation in it and the atmosphere reminds me of Bioshock, so can't be bad!

Honest Hearts was a nice change of scenery and there's a well-written little story in there (I won't spoil it).

I don't have Old World Blues yet.

I really want to mod this, but looking at the choice it really puts me off. On one hand I like the idea of having a great selection, but on the other I don't want to spend ages modding and tweaking.

This game needs far fewer mods than FO3 or Oblivion to get it right imo. Also more stable as well, the authors work much harder than they used to to make sure things are compatible.
