Fallout: New Vegas

Right, I bought all the dlc yesterday in the steam sale and fancied a bit of a play last night... tried installing off of the dvd but I constantly get the 'steam severs are too busy' message! Any ideas?

I've tried renaming the clientregistry.blob file/restarting etc but it hasn't helped. I thought it might just have been last night but its the same today :(

Change your download region in settings > Downloads + Cloud, it worked for me

The servers usually get hammered pretty badly during a sale, so it does last a while.

So, now that I've installed the original game and am waiting for the dlc to download do I need to dig out my old NV save files or does the dlc make you start a-fresh? I can't remember what the drill was with F3

Playing the DLC off of an existing save.

I've loaded my last game save from NV and as it starts I get all the dlc content added in but what's the best way of playing it?

My last save is just before the final battle with Caesar. Thing is, if I kill him and his guards and go to leave I have the confrontation with that general bloke and that's the end of the game

Should I play all the dlc and forget the Caesar mission for now? What's the normal procedure...

Do you have a last save just before you start the last mission event? Even if its a couple of missions behind? As all i did was load that after i completed it and played the DLC. I don't think there is a best way of playing it, just play it how you want to.

My last save from original NV places me before I attack Caesar - I can probably do a runner at that point and go back later, after the dlc and finish him off :p

I completed Fallout: New Vegas ages ago. However, i bought the following on a Steam deal recently.

Dead Money
Honest Hearts DLC
Lonesome Road DLC

I've loaded the original game and saved data - question is, which order to play and where do i start from as none of these i guess start when the main game ends?

Are they just missions within the main game?

Thanks

Yes they are missions within the game, you will get a message on your pipboy as soon as you load the game with the dlc loaded, it is usually a radio signal which you have to answer and the quests will start from there.

I haven't played any of the dlc myself, i am saving it for a big playthrough at some point.

Guys, I've been told about the survivalists riffle on top of red gate in the lonesome hearts dlc, I've been there I can't find it inside the sack next to the skeleton - I common bug I understand... is there any way round this?

I'm really fond of the riffles in the fallout world and I don't want to leave it behind when I finish the final quest :)

Anyone else get massive fps drops in seemingly random places? It was running perfectly for me until i went into the Broc Flower Cave to get the rifle, just walking between two barrels and it goes down to two frames per second. Putting all the settings on minimum didn't really help either, i had to wait for it to be playable, grab it then get the hell out of there.

I wonder if it's a problem with the game or with Wine... because other than that it seems to work remarkably well in Wine.

Well i just got Veronica. Voiced by Felica Day? Of course i want her following me around. Get lost Boone :D

I think i'm close to going to the strip... can you return and do side quests after you do? What about after the end of the main quest (i have most of the DLCs)?
