Yup I agree, it does seem pointless doing that.

I will be shocked if they do only release a 8GB model and not a 16GB or/and 32GB model.

If they do, as you said, people will be raging all across the internet

And they will probably end up releasing 16/32GB further down the line.

It just doesn't make any sense to downgrade from 16GB on the GN, heck even the nexus S has 16GB internal storage.

I really hope all these rumors are just that, been pinning my hopes for awhile on getting a new Nexus, tired of stupid skins and having to use half baked roms to stay on the cutting edge.

There was a lot of whining and complaining last year before and after Google released the GNex, let's remember that. We all expected a screaming fast processor and an awesome camera and we got neither. But for a lot of us, the GNex is probably still the best phone we've ever owned.

Whilst I am disappointed with LG with the industrial design, I think it's too early to be writing this phone off completely. Yes, there may be other options, but I ain't buying anything until I see Google's hand.

I also sincerely hope that the price of the 8GB version reflects its limited capacity.

Yeah whilst the design isn't new, many people actually really like the Galaxy Nexus aesthetics.

The hardware for once actually looks like it's going to be top notch, and I'm sure there'll be at least a 16gb model.

Not sure why everyone is so down beat.

I could make do with 16GB, but ideally would want 32GB+.

8GB is a joke.

If it doesn't launch with LTE, I reckon there is a good chance they will release an LTE version in 3-6 months time. This is annoying

Regarding the display:

We can not say for certain whether the touch layer is built right into the display LG Nexus 4. Rather, it is, as the technical features of the model are surprisingly exact match to the characteristics of the flagship Optimus G , which is equipped with just such an innovative touchscreen.
Sensors embedded in the screen or not, but the image on the screen looks amazing. Contrast, sharpness, brightness - all of these new options left behind Galaxy Nexus and very close to the iPhone 5 . In the latter, except that the brightness of the above, but, subjectively, the contrast is worse, the rest of the display, both are very similar and are among the best on the market.

Camera too early to tell as:

In fact, to say something specific about the possibilities of the camera early - there are problems with software enhancement. In automatic mode, photo module prototype does not always work correctly, there are problems with the white balance, focus, often lack saturation and contrast.

General Impressions:

Top pocket? The earphone socket is at the top so naturally you put the phone in bottom first!

I think the phone looks fantastic personally, much better aesthetics then the galaxy S3 for instance which I hate the look of. This phone looks so sleek, I want one!

A quick comparison I knocked up of vertical bezel size between the GS3, Note2 and the LG Nexus (as above).

Numbers are just pixel counts for the image - used to determine the percentage of the vertical height which is screen.

The GS3 is 79% [21% wasted]
The Note 2 is 83% [17% wasted]

The Nexus is 70% while onscreen buttons are active [30% wasted], and 76% without [24% wasted].

Not quite as big of a difference as I was expecting, judging the phones "by eye". I can't help but think that putting capacitive buttons on the device "chin" would have helped the function of the phone (76% throughout, rather than 70% in most situations), and would have maintained the "smooth glass front" appearance of the device.
