---2012 Nexus Phone facts/rumours/info thread---

Stuff I still want to know:

- Battery capacity
- Dimensions + Weight
- Different storage capacities?
- Is the camera any good?

What else am I missing....hmmm.

15 days to go until the unveiling.

Certainly just a case of waiting, I imagine there will be higher capacities available, after all, what point is there in including more than 8GB in dev units?

I'm reserving judgement until there are some opinions based on the final design and what it entails, or until I can have a play with one myself.

I've been planning on getting this year's Nexus as and when it/they arrive, I'm hoping it'll hit the right marks but it looks like we'll have to wait and see if that's the case.

1280x768 (16:~9.6) @ 4.7" vs 1280x720 (16:9) @ 4.65" ......so slightly wider.

Strange The Verge's write up on the phone says it has a 1280x720 IPS display.

Internally, Onliner's prototype unit matches the rumored specifications exactly. Like the Optimus G it is reportedly based off of, the phone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM. Additionally, the blog has confirmed that the prototype model's 4.7-inch, 1280 x 720 display is an IPS unit, which would make this the one of the first Nexus phones to use an LCD instead of an AMOLED screen with a PenTile subpixel arrangement.

Will have to wait for the hard facts but I'm pretty certain it uses the same screen thats in the Optimus G which is 1280x768 4.7".

1 mm difference between G and GNex......http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4941&idPhone2=4219

Well the Russion website that has the leaked prototype and have done a review on it say it is 1280x720 they are the ones that have done all the high quality leaked photos flying around, so I'm 90% certain it is correct.

Use chrome with translate to read. :)

The specs are based off the G however the screen is different.

I've seen that however I think they made a mistake. Fancy a bet? :D

Well they are the ones with the phone physically in their hands, why would it be incorrect?

The shots of the phone are of such high quality everywhere and the phone is widely reported to be 1280x720 I am not sure why you think it would be incorrect. Google clearly prefer that screen size which is why it is different to that of the G, remember Google have a hand in designing Nexus devices.

easy money for you then if your soo sure. ;)

I still think its 768. As Nexus18 and I know (:D:D), even reviewers get things like this wrong. :D

Ok then compare these images:

To me they look pretty much exactly the same width and the galaxy nexus looks a little taller?

1mm is very hard to spot from a pic - and LG could have squeezed in a 768 4.7" display in GNex chassis width so no way of telling until official specs.

It just makes sense to me that LG has their own phone out with the same specs but just a different body.

I still think all these publications are probably right... either way back to my original point, that still means it is the same width as the Gnex so no need to worry about it being 'wider'. Especially when you see the comparison shot with the iphone 5.

Definitely nothing compared to the S3 as can be seen in this shot:
