---2012 Nexus Phone facts/rumours/info thread---

Yeah the f2.0 aperture sensor in the one X/S is very good! So it will be interesting to see what this is like compared to the X/S and GS 3/note II.

Because LG make exceptionally good hardware and the software installed on this is completely made and controlled by Google?

  • It has one of the best screens on the market, with one of the highest PPI figures
  • It has the best mobile phone SoC inside it (not only computation and graphics processing power, but efficiency)
  • Wireless charging
  • A Sony BSI camera sensor, with only the One X f2.0 camera sensor beating it

It has always been LG's software that's let them down, now that's taken out of the equation.

And in 6 months we'll see the next best screens, 1080p, higher PPI than the current screens, new generation T4/Exynos 5 which will probably spank the S4, wireless charging probably as standard, improved cameras, bigger batteries possibly, but no fact denying all this great hardware still running on older versions of the software ;)

Technology is a vicious cycle seems products only last for around 6 months now before they get updated!

Sorry, I'm not really sure why you quoted me?

I didn't say the hardware was going to be the best around for 12 months, I was simply stating that this handset being made by LG can't be seen as a negative.

Nothing would be even close to the price.

i really like the glass look to the Nexus 4 a lot.

and wow at the price its probably worth shifting the One X on!

Since owning a Nexus One and a Nexus 7 i really dont see the need to not buy a nexus device from now on. Stock android is HANDS down the best Smartphone OS its simple and elegant

Was looking at an Xperia T to replace my Arc, and I was looking at getting a Note 10.1...

Now I'm gonna get a Nexus 4 (16Gb) and a Nexus 10 (32Gb) to play with!!!...

Those prices are insane!!, It's almost too good to be true!

Seems like Google have revolutionised the smartphone pricing model to bring it line with what amazon have done with the kindle. Sell at close to cost price with a view to sucking people in to Google services where they really make their money. And just imagine the purchasing power they held with LG when they were negotiating manufacture.

Pricing a phone like this so low is bound to steal apple fans away, especially in an economic downturn.

This is an unreal move by Google, and will totally change the mobile phone market. I actually can't believe it. Amazing!

I want to get one, but why do I feel they will release a 32GB one at £299?!

EDIT - I've had a look through my 32GB iPhone and seen 14gb of unused music, so that's me decided.

I'm getting one of these on release assuming good reviews for battery & camera
