They will not cool as well as the stock fans as they are only 1400rpm.

These are the ones you want but they are not much quiter than the stock fans.

Thanks MOOGLEYS:)

They must be quieter then the stock fans? do you have a link to the ones you use?

edit: tbh I'll be happy with the ones you linked me too.

also I have room on the top of my case for a H100i, but bought a H80i instead. Could I put the cooler on the top on my case instead of the back? so will still having one of my LED fans on top with the H80i?

They are about the same tbh.

I'm using these connected to the mainboard. I use 4 of them and they match the cooling of the SP120 performance fans with considerbaly less noise.

I'm not sure how 2 would fare on a H80 though.

I see no reason why the H80 cannot be mounted on the top of the case.

ok I haven't decided if I want it on the back or up top? On the back would be easier I think.

My experience (to address the balance a bit)
Windows 7 Ult x64.
Been running the H80i for 2 weeks now, no rattle/buzz, thought these fans can be noisy at full speed. I'm currently running it 24/7 on a 1090T based folding machine. Flat out at 100% with the fans locked down to 1400rpm my cpu temp is 35C. Running IBT the temp doesn't go over 40C.
The issue I'm working on for myself and others over at the corsair forums is the ***ppy drivers corsair bundle with the software. I had to force these drivers to install (the hardware ID is different to that in the driver inf file). Once you get them installed there's the dreaded '!' triangle in device manager, (code 10) fails to start.
I reinstalled windows twice in an attempt to get them working, suffice to say I wasted a full day on it.
I've finally got the dashboard working properly by refusing the offer to install the unsigned drivers. Went through Windows Update and it installed microsoft's drivers. reboot and the dashboard is working and I have full control. WTF!!
The H80i is now installed as 2 devices, a 'USB Input Device' which i presume is the interface and a 'HID-compliant device' which I presume is the H80i itself.
But the software works fine with these drivers.
It's worth a try, at least to verify if you have a driver or hardware fault. It's not gonna fix everyone's hydro, but it will fix some.

Hardware IDs:
Hydro itself - VID:1B1C PID:0C04
Drivers - VID:1B1C PID:1C00

I'm a happy bunny! Good luck peeps :D

*edit*

Even went to Silabs for their version of the drivers, same hardware ID issue!!

It rings true that most of the info you see posted on forums is the bad news, you hardly ever see anyone posting 'It's FAB'!!

You got drivers with it?
Install the latest from corsair. There's also firmware updates available for the H80i which you need the latest software to flash.
software/drivers is now 2.2.0, firmware is now 1.0.4

I thought drivers come with it
It's safe!! Until you download the software from corsair the cooler will run at 'default' settings (okay unless you stress test your intel)!

*For future reference*

If you install the software/drivers and get the warning triangle with a code 10 in device manager, just wind the drivers back and test again ;)

edit

Darn it!! I've just noticed the date on the Corsair drivers - 07/14/2010.
I believe I'm right in assuming these are generic drivers and were not actually written for the I series coolers.
Come on corsair, what gives??

H80i/H100i don't play properly with the old software. So you need the new software. problem is then dumbfounded by the new software needing the latest firmware for full functionality. That's the way corsair spell it.
My H80i updated first time no probs.
Only thing i will warn about is if your H80i/H100i has a rumble sound. The firmware updates turn this into a squeal.
My reccomendation is use the windows drivers, and if you're in any doubt don't update the firmware. At the end of the day there's a 5 year guarantee on these things - plenty of time for Corsair to get it right.

For those willing to give it a try the golden rule is:
Install the latest CorsairLink software first
Then flash the new firmware

Thanks ripshod, I'll give the fw a go and like you said I have a 5 year guarantee:D

These recent two pages sound like a nightmare to deal with. Everything seems endless long bugs that waste your time.

@VF
I believe in my heart that Corsair are trying their best to help people. My situation is resolved, but I'm still pestering them over the outdated generic (SiLabs) drivers they are expecting to work just fine.
There are also hardware problems, buzzing, grinding and squealing - half of these are down to air in the pump unit.
But the happy people never post do they?

@ RetrogamerX
before you fit it I suggest hanging the unit in your hand by the radiator and gently shake it for maybe a minute before you install. This should send any air to the radiator.

And, as if you ain't heard enought from me, I've extracted the installer -

Notice the lack of Windows7 or Vista.
Best suggestion is stick with the windows default drivers

Bl**dy hell, I got it installed.
Was a nightmare. Had to edit CmiUsb.inf and setup.ini with the correct Hardware ID and ClassGUI the drivers went in first time.
I wouldn't suggest any forum members do it - but in device manager find the 'HID-compliant device' with the hardware ID HID\VID_1B1C&PID0C04&REV_0200, and force the edited drivers to install. I'll not go into it here, but you may need to disable the driver signing wotsit, reboot and voila.
It's not over tho, I think Corsair should re-release the software with the correctly edited drivers.
I'm p**sing myself with joy. Tomorrow I'll put a proper tutorial up!!

Oh, and of course I'll send the corrected drivers back to Corsair now I've done all the work for them!! :p:D:D:cool:

Maybe I'll just put the drivers up for download by forum members only, after all it's them I've done the work for ;)
