I think that you answered your own question there, I think that Fellaini would be a good signing but he is quite a step down from their first choice of Fabregas.
Spanish press are all reporting that Barcelona have made a bid for David Luiz.
People keep mentioning his disciplinary record but I think he's only been sent off once for Everton. I think he's been sent off 4 times in his career.
I'm not saying either/or. There's room for a Fabregas type player as well.

we would just sell next year......with 2 years left, value still the same, possibly more.
Hold me Robbo, I can't hold all these feels on my own right now![]()
I'm going to go against most others and say that Fellaini is the sort of player that United need in their midfield. It's been lacking some real steel in the past few years. I think people underestimate how good a player he is.
Lets face it, he's an improvement on Anderson.
I wonder if he's always had 'Red Devils' in his Twitter bio or is he causing mischief? 'Red Devils' is also the nickname of the Belgian national team.

I think he can do a job for us, but only if he's consistent, which remains to be seen.
He would give us a 'steel' that we don't currently have, however this isn't really what we lack against most teams, and more often than not we beat the likes of Stoke, or whoever. He'd be yet another target for RvP's corners, which would be good.
He'll probably be an improvement on Anderson and Cleverley - probably, but Moyes surely can't think 'Rooney out, Fellaini in' is something that can actually happen. Surely not. Different leagues.
I've seen people compare him to Yaya Toure which is just embarrassing. :(

Indeed, they aren't really comparable at all (in quality or style).
I will end David Moyes if the only signing we make this year is an overpriced move for Fellaini. His release clause is 22m odd but I thought that was only till the 1st of august.
Yes, apparently Moyes wants to pay less than that (somehow).
Do you think Barca are desperate enough for cash for Luiz to sell Fab (as press have speculated)?
Even despite their spending recently (in the last few years), I cant see with their success and the amount of La Liga money etc they get every season how they can be that desperate for cash myself.
Quite possibly, their reported opening bid of €25m is way too low for Chelsea to consider selling anyway.
This better not be true!

Yeah good luck with that. I imagine Suarez will keep his mouth shut and get on with the job for the next 12 months, he seems the sort.

Someone who is a dirty ****? Yes, it's been a while since Keane left. Certainly due another dirty little ****.
Alves explained: "Cesc's is a different case. He has already left here once. He left the club, made a name for himself and then returned. He wasn't at his best at the end of last season but we were all the same.
"Football is a collective sport and you cannot look for scapegoats. If he decides to stay here, I'll be delighted to continue having him as a team-mate. The squad respects him a lot."
He added: "It's up to him what he does, but I think he can bring a lot to this side. The team needs players of Cesc's quality to win trophies."
Interesting stance the club is taking now.

Dani Alves made some interesting comments on Fabregas:

Interpret that how you will. Video of Moyes when asked about it yesterday (at the end): http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23598578
Things should become clearer either way tomorrow at least.
I can picture it now
Charity Shield, both teams start to walk out on the pitch. But hold on, Utd only have 10 players, what the hell is going on? Fans go a bit silent while everyone works out if someones just doing their laces up and is about to run out. And hold on, where's Moyes?!
Then Hulk Hogans music hits
And Moyes rides out on a Harley, onto the pitch with Cesc on the back. Skids into the centre circle tearing up the turf, drops Cesc off who takes his place next to RvP for the kick off.
Meanwhile, the fans are going nuts, and the commentators are going absolutely crazy shouting "We've been duped!! It's been a deal all this time"
Just as he says that, the camera cuts to a close up of Moyes, who puts on a pair of shades, and then a Sky Sports graphic cuts across the bottom of the screen saying "Deal with it". And he rides off into the tunnel
Got a good feeling about this guys
