Sleeping Dogs Bench Thread

Luck of the draw, my friend :)

Fwiw, I get the odd hint of chequer boarding here and there at 1260mhz.

If you lower vram clock and or vram voltage a bit you can sometimes get rid of that. I had the same thing with one of my 7950's. I could run 1100/1500 easily, but go up to 1125/1500 and it would eventually come up with the black squares. I lowered the vram voltage from 1.6v to 1.5v and now i don't get those black squares. The ram is still stable as well so all good in the hood. I blame it on the crappy Elpida ram. ;)

I'm now up to 1125/1500 as a 24/7 clock and artifact free and will try for further over the coming days. 1150/1500 would be nice. I've now surpassed 7970 ghz stock speeds for crossfire so its all good. Using Sleeping Dogs Extreme as my bench as nothing gets the gpu's hotter.

TL : DR - Black squares usually point to vram artifacts. Sparklies or white flashes = core. (at least this is what ive noticed on my 7950's with elpida ram)

True, but high vram clocks are quite beneficial in this game as you know.
It's the only reason I managed to squeeze past you and Kaap :p I probably also got lucky with a good run.

24/7, I'd probably go with 17-1800 or so just for the hell of it.

If my 7970 msi oc (RIP) was still with us it would take your msi 7970 oc, kaap's 7970 matrix plats and scottys 770 to the cleaners (and wash your smalls), all on air cooling. ;) :D

:( :( :(

mat your 7970 died ? it was a fiddle too much I bet:(

Yes it did mate. A few of us attended its funeral behind closed doors many months ago. No doubt its premature death was brought on by my fiddling, though i believe its actual cause of death was something else. Its memory will live on forever. I would say it was the best £270 i ever spent, but considering my 7950 crossfire setup only cost me £360, it came a close second overall in terms of bargains.

Updated Bench for you:

2500k 4.5
GTX 670 1162/1750
