Indeed a gain is a gain and also an interesting comparison seeing both setups running the same clocks.:)

Scoreboard updated.:)

Dual GPU run under water

CPU 2600K @ 3.4 (stock) | GPUs 2x290 pro @ 947 / 1250 (or whatever AMD think "stock" is for these vague products)

Something is seriously wrong I think.

I think you are going to need a bit of overclocking on the CPU.

I have just run these on my GTX 690s @stock

The only difference is the CPU overclock

31.5fps extra by just overclocking the CPU.:D:)

And on the scoreboard.:)
I've just installed the Gelid Icy Vision Rev2 cooler last night, and decide to try overclocking it further. Eventually settled for the 1200/1570MHz (any higher than 1200MHz core clock I'd get artifacts and any higher than 1570MHz memory clock I'd get black screen- stupid Elpida memory...).

I just ran this benchmark on my SLI 780ti and most the time the GPU useage is only around 70% at 1080p

But at 1440p it pushes the GPU usage up to around 98% most the time
