Forza 5 Announced

The game is fine itself with the content you get, you've no need to buy any DLC if you don't want to. This isn't Killer Instinct with 1 free character :p

Also with the array of adjustable assists, it's more than accessible for a casual racer, Forza isn't a full-on sim.

Ah cool good to hear, I'll have a little bash on it tonight :)

And yeah, I saw KI was free and downloaded it expecting to get the entire thing... not one character and two skins

I've uploaded the tunes i'm currently using if anyone wants to give them a try.

I play in cockpit view with no assists, manual clutch & sim steering / sim damage. Advanced controller settings (steering 0-100, brakes 0-100, accelerator 0-100 all of these then have full travel. everything else default). They should be fine with assists though.

Go to Upgrade-->Setup manager-->Load setup--> Search

Search for 'Mash Tuning' in the tune description field or Gamertag 'Ma5hEd'.

No, you can still unlock and buy cars normally, and it's not too hard in terms of grinding. Not to Gran Turismo levels anyway :p

Car DLC has been part of Forza and other games for a while now, this is nothing new, and I think the £13 you quote is for a full car pack, not just 1 car.

The first car pack is £7.99, or £2.39 a car IIRC.

The £13 will be for (microtransaction) tokens that shortcut the credit grind. It think it's more than that, seen $63 mentioned if you want the Lotus F1 car without earning the in-game credits.

I've bought almost all the cars now and I'm just saving up for the formula one car :) I wasn't aware until just now that you could spend real money though. I think you can just ignore that - spending real money is just for cheaters that wanna skip all the championships in the middle of the career as they give you millions of credits.

You've bought almost all the cars already??? Have you been playing non stop?

Slides easy to control? Which car are you using?

I picked the S2000 for my first car, turned all assists off apart from ABS and steering onto simulation, the car spins on every corner if you don’t know what you’re doing and nearly impossible to get back.

Loving the fact you have to brake before you start to corner otherwise it makes the car unstable to start with and you have to feather the throttle on the way out until your near enough straight, do both these wrong and your off, brilliant physics imo! Realistic as a game can get to tail happy S2000 in real life.

I did this too as well as abs and wish I did not it was so frustrating but ultimately true to the car. lots of y button mashing

Depends how you'll be playing the game IMO.

I'm slightly regretting it. The multiplayer experience that I enjoyed a lot in FM3/FM4 has been gutted. I spent the majority of my time participating in social events and online leagues. The functions that supported that have been gutted so that it's pretty much unusable for that purpose.

On the upside it looks good, it sounds good even if it's a bit light on tracks compared to FM4.

Price of the console, the game, then the further assault of DLC to finish the game off is ... distasteful. Add in a new licensed wheel and it's a mugging.

If you like what you see already, it plays how you'll want to play it and the price seems fair then go for it. Don't make assumptions that they'll fix any outstanding issues.

Would you guys say it is worth buying an Xbox One just for Forza 5?

Serious and honest answers only please.

I did! but I'd say no it's not, or at least not for now.. when they add all the content that is missing from the game in it's present form then maybe but only you can decide if you want to spend £500 for a game..

Has anyone had any "interesting" experiences with my (Zippy Saturn) drivatar at all, by all accounts he should be sliding/trying to drift most corners, some even on purpose!! :D

Ive had you and Gord wipe me out spectularly in the last day or two, id don't think I've done a first lap of Spa yet without someone breaking between the 1st and 2nd kink of Eau Rouge, always causing massive pileups or corner cutting avoiding action.
