Check gpu memory usage - if you hit the limit then effectively the game will page your vram and stutter. Just a thought.

I will check that next time i play ..

just noticed your using 2x670 2gb cards are you not running into any problems and what games do you play .


Just tried on CTE which is much smoother , Was using only half the gpu ram on both cards 1.5gb the cards have 3gb ,i think i may of found the problem not 100% sure will check some more tomorrow its late now and going to bed ..

This is a really good call. Going from 1080p to 1440p increases the amount of vram you need so you might not be able to run a game at the same settings you could at 1080p. From memory, BF4 gave me trouble on ultra with only 3gb vram.
 
Hey guys, one question!

At whitch level do your eyes looking at the sceen ?
I mean how far up/down from the top of the screen, are your eye level at the absolute top where the screen starts, or do you have it set lower down ?

I get this colour dark shift about 5 cm down from the top, it is the same with my old VG278H so I guessing thats the TN panel and nothing you can do, right ?

E.x if your eyes are in the middle of the screen and say you are looking at some object in middle level it's nice and light, but movin the camera so that object comes at the top of the screen darkens it a lot, right ?
 
Just got this monitor as well on Saturday from another vendor, thought I join in for a little bit.

Happy with this monitor, agree with praises from other owners, can feel the premium build, love how it wakes up instantly from sleep mode, while my old Dell U2711 follows 5 secs later. I followed the calibration settings on TFT Central, then adjusted a bit to the light conditions in my room.

My previous poverty 120hz monitor was ASUS VG278HE, also have 3D Vision 2 on it, which I mostly use to watch 3D movies at times. It has been slightly odd having a desktop stretched between 2 screens of different resolutions (1080p on Asus and 1440p on Dell), but not anymore with the ROG Swift.

I installed the 3D Vision 2 on this badass monitor as well, but for some reason there's noticeable faint ghosting. It's visible during the setup where you have to close one of your eyes to pick a Trianlge or a Pentagon, and also visible in the nVidia Control Panel 3D Stereoscopic test. Anyone with the 3D glasses notice this? Pretty sure there was no ghosting on the VG278HE.

3D movies now look blurry, but then it is understandable since it's a stretched 3D 1080p video, although I don't think I noticed ghosting there, I'll take a better look tonight when I get home.
 
Nice feedback ShadowFlare and as a 3D gamer and movie watcher, I like to hear the negatives as well. If you set 3D gaming at 1080P in game, does it still show ghosting? I still have the peasant Asus VG278H 3D monitor and don't get any of the ghosting either.

Yeah, usual TN panel issue there if you are looking even slightly up. I think it is best for TN panels that your eyes are leveled to the top of the screen or lower to avoid looking up. Looking down on the screen doesn't cause the bad TN dark colour shift to my experience.

Thanks, I registered here back in May 2010 but have only been lurking from threads to threads lol. Can't believe that was my first post.

I'll give it a try tonight or tomorrow at 3D gaming, but I have a feeling it will show as well.

For me i still getting problems like stuttering with a ping of 6ping and frames high as 120 set to 144hz g-sync on .

I'm using a single 780 and I belive you are using SLI so I don't think our setups are comparable. I used to prefer ULMB but since adjusting my prerendered settings to 1 it's much better in GSYNC.

Also its worth noting that BF4 does not provide the most consistent experience across different setups. There are many changes you can make (Windows 8.1 / unparking cores) which have been proven to reduce lag and enhance the overall experience.

I would imagine color wont be anywhere near as good as IPS and black wont be either. I always just put my room in complete darkness to see how black the blacks are.

I'm going to have mine when it arrives setup side by side with my SPVA panel to see how different it is. I'm expecting big differences but at least i'll see with my own eyes.

"nothing compared to an IPS"? in what way? a decent IPS panel can reach about 1000:1 maximum, same as a decent TN Film panel. The Asus PG278Q was 858:1 static CR after calibration which is a very decent performance and better than most IPS panels you will find.

I've not read the review, but that can't be right!! how would 356:1 be "respectful" (do they mean respectable!?) - thats an appalling figure for any screen, but i don't believe that's accurate. How did they ever record it at such a low level. It's far higher than that!
