** THE FIRST FREESYNC MONITOR ARRIVES AT OcUK!! **

:o

Had a bad news day today and I shall refrain for the foreseeable future from engaging in conversation with greg as I wouldn't like a lenghty ban from the forum, the place wasn't the same without you two for 3 months.:)

Sincere apologies to any one offended.:)

Correction: it wasn't a ban it was access removal from this sub-forum only. I post in other areas and this was allowable throughout my 3 month wrist slap :).

Additionally, this place has been without me for a lot longer than the 3 month removal that Greg, humbug and I all had enforced. I gave up on this place a long time ago.

However, it's nice to see that every time I dip my head back in you're still baiting Greg at every opportunity, 'bad news day' or not. Do me a favour and refrain from engaging in conversation with me as well. All the best.

I am all set up and ready to go.

What picture setting you using? I find without tweaking the standard setting to be quite good..
You tried the motion blur reduction yet? Thing is superb be interesting if Freesync works with that setting.

Also last thing what happens if you select 144hz 1440p..
Been told it's driver issue just want my mind at rest.

I will be comparing the screen to my XL2420T

I wonder if the screen will look the same with the following settings it should be a similar panel

Brightness 28
Contrast 50
Sharpness 5
Gamma option 1
and R 97 G 94 B 98

I also have same other BenQ.. Not had chance to get my settings up yet though.
At stock on standard I really liking what I see..

Depends how close to the panel in the Swift it is - BenQ tend to do a bit of their own tweaking and/or might have adjusted for some of the common complaints about the Swift out the box.

If its anything like the Swift then I had to decrease gamma slightly, brightness to taste but around 50, contrast 50 and R 95, G 95, B 100.

If it has gamma options then if its typical of BenQ and has similar issues to the Swift then Gamma 4 or 5 would give the best colour saturation.

Found it a bit bright but as you can see I have the brightness pretty low my eyes are sensitive and flashbangs on CSGO burn my retinas

the black and blur reduction looked good but sadly I couldn't test for long at work office lighting and 120hz = headache.

It's impressive just how much more detail there is at 1440p over 1080p. Makes me wonder how good native 4k must look.

4K detail is immense but... personally I find gaming at 2560x generally far more comfortable - outside of games like elite dangerous or racing games where I'm using a controller or wheel.

Very true man am quite blown away tbh.. I thought this upscale DSR or SVR @1440p gives you 1440p IQ I was very wrong.

You know what's also very good about BenQ is its 1to1 scaling of other resolution like 1080p on this looks just the same as on my native 1080p display.

As good as VSR and similar techs are, they are no substitute for the real thing. :)
